  • indeed, i must concur, Vitamin E oil ftw.

  • and you could even double the efficacy by taking vitamin e capsules

  • i thought chicks dig scars...... what is the world coming to.

  • I roughen mine up with a file even couple of weeks to keep 'em fresh.

    HTFU

  • only those pirate ones that look like railway crossings

  • +1 fantastic stuff

I used bio oil 2/3 times a day on this, amazing, only very slight scaring around the top of the eye, nose has no sign of scaring.....

good shit indeed - sorry hippy....

  • I was born ugly though.. I didn't need to faceplant to get there ;)

  • Great to hear you're healing well, Dan

  • +1 bio oil
and this superdrug scar serum thing worked well when i mashed my face up

  • hippy - fair enough man, won't hold it against ya, the GLP count out of Mildura has always been low though ;o

Epifania - old one that be! the sun has been treating me well here in oz, 25C every day and sunny!!! My skin is getting as almost brown as yours ;) Just gotta watch the rays...

  • I've not tried bio oil yet, though about to.

But vitamin e oil (the most natural you can find) also works really well. I use them on my piercings (stretching/looking after earlobes) and dry skin.
I have problems with ezcema & very mild acne, but this was solved after getting the right stuff from a visit to the dermatologist after pestering my GP!

  • Bio-Oil FTW, following a very stupid evening of excessive drinking involving a fork and a blowtorch it came in very useful and does help... Nothing will totally clear it up though... Besides... Chicks dig scars, just tell them it was a crocodile/ shark/ ninja...

  • Epifania - old one that be! the sun has been treating me well here in oz, 25C every day and sunny!!! My skin is getting as almost brown as yours ;) Just gotta watch the rays...

I was thinking about how warm it is there, even for the cusp of spring, got to love oz for that reason alone. Happy to hear your color is coming back and you're settled. Suncreme to the max with those deadly rays! remember the stats :)

  • sudocrem work on eczema
as for scars each one tells a story
im accident prone so covered with them,
why do you want rid of them anyway, its only a bit of tough skin

  • Hey all,

I have a lot of scars on my body, mainly due to being an adventurous kid. I also have ezcema which comes out periodically on my back and shoulders, which I can't help scratching, and it's left me with a lot of uneven patches and abrasions.

I know there are a few skincare products out there that claim to remedy this but i'm a bit skeptical as to whether they actually work or not. Anyone got any experience with them?

My mum got hit by a land rover head on in march. The headlight shattered and lacerated her face from the lip up under the eye socket, and she suffered a fractured cheekbone and lost a few teeth.

a friend of mine recommended some oil from somewhere in amsterdam, which she's still using on the facial scar now.

It is definitely reducing the scar tissue very rapidly, but obviously she doesn't have any other serious scars to compare the healing time with. I personally think it is helping to reduce redness and alow even healing.

However this doesn't necessarily help you! The oil is used very very sparingly on a single wound and over a long period of time.

  • I agree with LdnGrrl, vitamin E is great! But chicks dig scars! Rub your wounds with salt, peanutbutter and lemon juice!

  • I have a scar on my chest anyway - and havent bothered using anything to make it fade and planning a scarification in the future. Scars ftw.

  • +1 to Bio Oil

  • Had eczema all my life, as a kid it was bad enough to often take time off school.

There are alot of things you can cut out (booze, caffeine, junk food), and some things that you can take (Vitamin E, evening primrose oil, wholefoods) that will help some.

Actually treating the eczema needs lots of greasy stuff. Nothing fancy, emulsifying ointment, the thick E45/oilatum creams etc. Slap it on at least twice a day (ideally 3-4 times). Inconvenient and messy, but it worked for me and works for my daughter.

Another good treatment is to bath in warm (not hot) water with a load of emulsifying ointment mixed in. Best way to do this is put a few big scoops in a jug and mix it with boiling water before adding to bath.

www.eczema.org is a great site. Threre's a list as long as your arm of other stuff such as washing powders, stress etc to consider.

Sorry, you asked about scars. My wife used cocoa butter on her stretch marks, seemed to work!

  • i'd throw aloe vera into the mix, but it only works when the scar is still healing, works really well...especially if you happen to have a supply of fresh cactus on hand! i was in spain for a week recently and the garden where we stayed was abundant. sliced a slither off a leaf each day, halfed it and rubbed the clear gel onto a scar from an operation...worked amazingly. i was told by my consultant that simply massaging a scar 3 times a day with any kind of cream etc is also good. breaks stuff up. there's a lot of talk about ultrasound working but he believed it to be BS.

  • I have a lot of scars, some very bad...others just visible, and I have some weird super tough healing thing (wolverine stylee) where my scars keloid more than normal people, hence they are thicker, which means they heal stronger but are thicker/raised more.
I've found bio-oil or Vitamin E-oil along with regular moisturising to help me most, I also suffer with Eczema on occasion.
With everything else thats so fucked up in my body, I wonder if I have one properly working undamaged bodypart left on me!

  • horse oil / fat.... used it in Japan to heal saddle sores mucho quick... good on burns and even nuked a wart on my finger with it....

  • Guy who sits next to me at work suffers from terrible eczema, he's started hang sunbeds and the improvment is immense bt he does look like old leather.
