Sort your shit out, Superior Bikes
"Female cyclists do not generally need to push their limits, race
against time and increase their adrenaline when riding rough downhill
trails. They just want to enjoy the time spent in nature on the bike,
and their expectations from the bike are completely diff erent than
men's. They look mainly for safe, easy and, of course, stylish bikes
that have good and natural handling." -

the only thing that increases my adrenaline on a rough downhill trail must be how quickly i can get back to the kitchen, obviously

"Puerile sexist shite thread" on TTF gets locked...
... so the puerile sexist shite continues, in a "why was the puerile sexist shite thread locked, thread".

"We'd better ban people stating whether a bike looks good or not as well."
Yeah, because an inanimate object is exactly the same as another human being....

Christ... it's like concentrated bikeradar in there :-/

... If I had a daughter I would prefer her to get more than her fair share of attention than less.

I stopped reading at that bit and went off to do something, anything, more productive with my day, before I had an aneurysm.

Given the average age of the TT forum most of these views will quite literally die out in a few years.
-
• #989
Its a shame because the forum itself is good (sometimes essential for me) for event details and prompt results. General rule is to stay away from the Main Topic Area and Non Cycling subforums...

I think Bike Radar is worse. So many threads of variations on "post pictures of fit women wearing not much". Jeff Jones, BR editor, tweeted about an article they'd done about sexist bike ads and I called him out about their forum. Apparently it's something they're looking to change, but nothing yet. Astounding that their advertisers aren't put off.

Advertisers put off by sexism?
-
• #993
Yeah, my comment was aimed specifically at that thread: I've never had reason to go into the TT forum ( not the most aero person ). I've not looked at Bikeradar for years, but remember there being some awful, shitty, "girls in lycra" type rubbish going on there.
Apart from here, the only other bike forums I occasionally inhabit are MTBR and Singletrack. Not sure how many more "The wife won't let me get any more bikes" centred threads I can stomach though :-/

Nice^, but even Velocio with his abundance of mercy would not condemn it as sexist.
