  • That ^^ right there is a fucken strawberry flan.

  • looks bloody nice too.

  • when i had flan when when i was little, it was hot and cheesey, anything cold was cold flan. then my nan started saying quiche and now anything savoury is quiche apparently. In my heart, flan will always be cheese and tomato flavoured and hot, with a jacket potato. quiche is cold. that strawberry thing is a tart?

A flan is an upscale, classy custard, yes. But it is more; it is an elegant, rich dessert that can be adapted to almost any occasion. No, they are not simple to make. They are not like instant pudding or jello, but you would not want them to be. The time, effort and precision in the preparation is part of what makes flan unique, a treat to be savored whenever the opportunity should arise.

  • Classy and upscale???

Those strawberry flans up there are standard issue in EVERY single Aussie bakery. They are sweet treats for the masses and they are good....

Pie - a type of food made with meat, vegetables or fruit covered in pastry and baked:

unfortunatly this quote is from some website that has savoury meringue topping on it so it could be all balls....

  • This is a Shepherds pie.

I cant see any pastry top!

    imo the king of pies.

  • That one looks a bit grim though. Frozen jobbie perhaps?

  • potato layers too thin, i can't see any onion either which means there's not enough onion in it...

  • Cant see much in the way of green herbs either. I always use a touch of fresh mint and corriander.

  • Why does the quiche have such a reputation as an effeminate dish?

  • I made a quartet of Cornish Pasties with my own bare hands last week. They were, and I am as a consequence, bombfunk.
