  • Just want to let you all know that I just dropped the baking bomb on my department.

The Sextuple Banana Choc Chip cake.

Six times the amount of banana, 6 times the amount of chocolate....

It is apparently so good that the hottest chick in my room just asked me out on a date. Stick that in your oven and whack it on gas mark 4 for 120 minutes and see how you like it.

Steve at the C&H get this date sorted out brother, I NEED TO EATTTTTT CAKKKEEEEEE

By the beard of Zeus, this sounds intense!

Henry, I've got you in my baking crosshairs partner, you're going down in a hail of flour, butter and a splash of vanilla essence

  • Ed, I must say, this was a fecking awesome idea, I had no idea there were so many budding Ainsley Harriotts out there!

  • Potential dates are 11/10/09 and 18/10/09, what would people prefer?
11/10/09 - it's pretty soon (maybe a bit too soon)
18/10/09 - world cup qualifier games are running so the pub will probably be pretty busy with football people

Please add your name to the date which you prefer by tomorrow morning and we can get this show on the road

    11/10/09

    18/10/09

    huge16 - bring it on...

  • Flying through the thread to say that Steve C&H is more than happy with the 18th date.
Is that all ok with you?
He's also asking whether we've got any 'special requirements'. I might point him towards Chug It's FacsStalk page.

  • Lets do it guys, I need 2 weeks notice so MOC can start the Guinness cake!

  • Clefty, the 18th is the track day.

  • I think track then cakes sounds like an excellent idea!

  • Yeh I know, track day starts at 12pm though, Cake off doesn't need to start until 4-5pm surely?

  • Yeah, but how long were we out there for last time? Seems like
one or the other. Besides, how am I going to get 4 cakes and a wheel
    set to south London?

  • Oh, HOW did I not notice this thread? I am totally, totally, totally in. And it gives me an excuse to try and find the recipe for the weirdly delicious lemon, thyme, olive oil and almond cake I sampled last weekend...

Maybe we should schedule in an optional long ride beforehand, to work up the appetites, and then one afterwards too, to work off all the sugar! (Or we could just have mini sugar-fuelled time trials in between courses.)

  • Could I win with this?

  • Yeah, but how long were we out there for last time? Seems like
one or the other. Besides, how am I going to get 4 cakes and a wheel
    set to south London?

We'll work it out somehow - I reckon we could prob get some fridge space at the C&H before hand

  • Please read the original post for details.

Will the ladies be able to make a 6pm start?

  • There should be a vegan category for the dietary challenged
(there are a few people on here will be making vegan versions i think)

I agree with Nhatt on this:

I would prefer not to have a seperate vegan catagory, This Cake Is A Pipe Bomb is NOT health food, it contains over 9 bars of chocolate.
I am utterly convinced that my cake can stand up to McTorture cake any old day ;-)

And I'm confused--why should the vegan category be for the dietary challenged non-vegans? ;P

  • cause I said so and didn't read the thread.
ok fair enough scrap the suggestion.

  • moog. I cannot do any of those dates as i have a business trip to foreign lined up. I am out and with me goes MrsO's carrot cake :o((

    P.S., I'm vegan, too. :)

    Let's show 'em.

I've never baked anything before, but might give some biscuits a try.

:( sorry to hear that Clive, I've got something in the works for Christmas time so Mrs O's carrot cake could still make an appearance this year.
