  • Is Mark Lusardi still working? I did some stuff with him a few years back at his little studio in town, was really impressed... Can't remember the name of the place but was reasonably priced for a day, we knocked out two mixed tunes...

    Berry St?

  • ^^not surprising really as the the animal farm studio is situated next to Evans cycle shop maintenance training centre and workshop and opposite the HQ of Cycle Training uk so lots of track sprockets aound

  • Berry St?

Nah, think it was Mark Angelo Studios... Looks like he's closed down, sad...

  • Thanks chaps. Berry St looks suitable ish, can't see the "tour".

  • Help required! London Recording Studio recomendations please!

Have tried Fortress (booked the day I need), Premises (free but i know the engineer they're suggesting and he's deaf). Now i'm having mental blank on other places.

Needs to be decent but not crazy priced high end. Probably have a grand absolute tops for a long day's recording and mixing.

    Thanks

    toerag!

    not really

  • Liam is a fucking magician tho'... Haven't recorded at the new place, only ever used the old place off Curtain Road... You could do much worse, Alan...

  • Thanks Joe. I know it's great. I looked round the old place when we were shopping about for places to make my old band's album. Ended up at Gold Top in Chalk Farm which is sort of like "Toerag Lite" and was an terrible decision as it turns out but never mind.... The point is, it is awesome but it's not right for this situation I don't think.

This is all related to the corporate whoring ad music thing i'm doing and we're after something a bit more modern and shiny.

For organisational reasons we've actually switched back to plan-a now which is book out a rehearsal room for 12 hours on the 3rd Jan.

Thanks for the tips though. I really fancy doing something at Toe Rag one day. Even if it's just for my own amusement. I kind of fancy making a rough as anything country/garage 7" for no reason at all. The unsold copies can then sit under my bed next to the unsold copies of the last single I made.

Do you know if they're still using that big old desk from abbey road?
And the only reason I withdrew the reccomendation is because I thought it would would come to more than a grand to be honest, with all that inch tape...

  • As far as I know, yeah... I think Liam had a spare one knockin' around as well tho', or maybe that was a spare ex-BBC one inch machine... He had tons of amazing shit in that place...

  • Really really digging on Sandberg basses these days!

  • what size nut do those have on em? j or p bass?

    /carnival peoples hands.

  • great

  • thanks man

  • I somehow stumbled across this video today. Horrible stuff - It's all so clinical and boring:
YouTube - Matt (of MattRach) - The NEW Canon Rock

Then things were all OK again:
YouTube - John Frusciante- Untitled #6 and #7

  • Here is the 2002 Tele Deluxe I bought the other week - bit of a rubbish phone shot in the rehearsal studio last week - Peavey amp is studios, not mine....

  • Oi! I've got one of those amps - it's not that bad!

  • No it's not! Actually quite a nice Rectifier style sound - just saying like....

  • can't see the pic (stupid work).

which peavey is it? the peavey classic series amps were/are great. the old version looked cooler because you could remove the ugly spiky peavey logo and they just looked like little old tweed bassmans (bassmen?). they got wise to that though and changed the logo so you can't take it off! the classic 20 and 30 are amazing little amps for the money. I used an old 1x12" classic 30 live for years.

  • Mine (I have two actually for various reasons, as you do) is/are 15 years + old. Neither has a logo now, so guess they are the older Classics. One's a 30 and one a 50. Great little meaty practice/small gig amp, and as you say, very cheap!

  • That is a peavey triumph 120 all tube - he's selling it if interested? approx £120

  • thinking about picking this up this afternon: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/irig/features/

  • I was looking at one of those things...think it was made by Peavey. They look pretty fun to dick about on. Which one is supposed to be 'better'?

  • I just ordered one of those yesterday. Will post an impression when it arrives.

I quite like the IK Multimedia stuff.
