Best suggestion on Instagram so far has been to rewire the A cab and turn the stereo input into a mono output for the B cab... Only two cables that way...
I think I'll do that... And gaffer tape over the other outs on the amp so I don't fuck it up...

Sounds like a plan. Or a second head...

Looks like I won't be getting a white Jag in time for my 50th after all... But by a very strange quirk of fate I just bought one of these off Rowland S. Howard's brother... Close enough...

I sort of need a guitar with a stable trem for big bendy chords on a limited budget (ideally <£300). Not sure if strat will hack it but maybe jazzmaster or jaguar? Otherwise looking at super-strat type things with floyd-rose hardware, which are a bit vom.
Any ideas? I would prefer hot single-coils or p90s to HB... -

Electromatic Gretsch with a Bigsby?

Is he a thing? I'd never heard of him til I stumbled on this video... He's amazing, wasn't so fond of the way he made my new pickups sound but he did make me smile... 🙂

Never seen him before just now. He's just impeccably amazingly awful. I like it.

I have a guitar issue. My main acoustic (the 1980s Sigma) has been playing and sounding great following the re-fret and set up last year. Went to record with it this week and noticed the top e string is buzzing on the frets. Sure it wasn't a week ago. It feels like the action has dropped across the board which feels great... super slinky, but is no use to me if the top string is buzzing.
Slackened off the truss rod a 1/4 turn but it hasn't made any difference. Will tweak it again tomorrow. Bit surprised as to why the neck would flatten out. Haven't changed strings in months. I love dead old strings on an acoustic. Any ideas what might have caused the change?

Reckon the trem is stable for abuse? It's been a long time since I played with a bigsby but I remember it being quite temperamental and more suited to jazz wobbles.

What kinda stuff are you gonna play on it? I can't stand locking trems but have to admit they're great at what they do... Wish I could get my Strat to stay in tune for longer than half a song at a time...

I want it for a kind of cowboy/surf thing with half/whole step bends and also general noise abuse. Not keen on the pointy metal thing that tends to come with locking trems though!

Yeah, they're hideous... Tho' I'm very tempted to pick up one of those cheap Kramer Berettas I keep seeing at super knock down prices, just for the lulz...
I'm no tremolo expert so can't really help... Just buy a Jaguar, eh? Why not? ☺

Ask a stupid question, but you're not using drop tuning?
Embrace the buzz.... -

I've got a bit of an obsession with tremolos and I've gone through a lot of varieties, from Bigsbys on an archtop to Bigsby copies on a Les Paul to where I am now with a Jaguar.
If you want those big swirly surfy trems the Jag/Jazz is the way to go. There's something magical about that floating trem that just makes the sound so so rich.
If you want to add a more subtle trem to an existing favourite guitar I would have no problem recommending adding a cheap Bigsby clone. I picked one up for like £20 off ebay and it works just as well as the officially licenced Bigsbys. Not as pretty but sounds just as good.
In my experience, if both are set up right, they're both stable. It's just that those jazz/jag floating trems go much deeper.
And you're right, Floyd Rose trems are just not worth it. My old guitarist had one and if you snap a string you literally cannot play the damn thing. They sound like dogshit too. The amount of gigs we had where we had three or four minutes dead time because of the fucker. He smashed it up just before we got signed to force the label to pay to get him a new guitar. Bastard got a 1976 three-pickup Les Paul Black Beauty. Infuriating.

Thanks, that's useful knowledge! I suppose I'll just have to go and try the fuckers out. J Mascis Jazz looks pretty rad for the money!

I've got a new bass!
Been lusting after a Precision for ages - love the way the FCS basses have nicely worn in necks but without too much sanding to the body. Plays really nice & was sounding good at practice on Monday, real test is the gig tonight though.

gonna keep the brian wilson tug bar?

Thanks TS.
Greenhell - sure why not, I don't play anywhere near there so it doesn't get in the way.
If A cab has 16ohm input as well then there's no issue! Two 16s from the 8 ohm output is fine
