  • @rodan i love that build dude. I love the subtle reverse shape too. It looks like the jutting lower jaw of a bareknuckle boxer. Reminds of a jug-eared cockney brawler I used to ride rickshaws with in the late 90s. In a very good way. I don't name my guitars but if you do, I'm throwing "Roy" into the hat.

  • @fatberg its great that your daughter wants to play guitar, i'm sure between you and Mrs Berg, your daughter will get to into playing real soon. i have been mega slack picking up my relic, since bike collision last year when i lost grip in my left hand. Its back to square one on the fender app for me.

I saw and listened to these American Acoustasonic Stratocaster Exotics on a fender email and thought wow.. £2.5K a piece

It's like buying 2 guitars in 1 and paying the price of 3

  • @almac68, of sorry to hear about the hand dude. Will it recover over time?

^^Yeah I can't get on board with those things. They feel very gimmicky to me. Also they remind me of this ferocious beast, which my best mate had when we were kids. Many a school music night concert was regaled with its thin tinny piezo twang accompanied by the eyeball-slicing treble from my Encore roundback Ovation copy.

Our "band" (it was just him and me) were called Death by Stereo

  • Hello! I've got an MXR carbon copy bright pedal that I just don't use. Looking to swap it for a Boss loop station if anyone wants an exchange.

No velcro on the base and no corrosion to the battery terminals inside (takes a 9v battery or a mains power supply). Please message me if you're interested, want more pics or details.

EDIT: Or will sell for £85 posted

  • Its back to square one on the fender app for me.

I signed up for the trial to see what it was like, think it's really good. Wish there was something like that when I learned. Hope your hands getting better!

I can't tell if I love or hate those fenders. I like a bit of innovation, I think it's the sound hole and 'nearly full' pick guard that's putting me off.

  • Thanks man. I know what you mean, reverse offsets just have that bit of ‘fuck you’ about them. It doesn’t really have a name, as such, although going by the Inkscape drawing it was built from, it’s called ‘EWDC6(PFU)’.

    PFU stands for ‘Post-Fuck Up’.

  • hey @Fatberg @King_Saxlingham thanks for your best wishes. my grip is coming back post collision 12 months on., also I can't ride my bike for too long without it aching. I will try and feel my way back with my guitar though, cheers

  • Marginal gains here but I’ve tinkering with my pedal board again. The Tubescreamer is back and first in line. Temporary very happy with the sound into the Champ.

    Excuse the mandals.

  • That my tele btw, not the SG. Happy to report that the SG love hasn’t diminished my affection for the old slab.

  • have you borrowed joe's sandals?

  • Anyone looking to shift a small pedalboard (sized for 5-6 pedals) or have a good template for making my own?

  • I binned my Birkies years ago!! Wore my Bedrocks on the beach at Burleigh Heads today, winter, what's that?

  • Crunchy!! I think your sandals are lovely...

I plugged in yesterday, no sound coming out of my board at all... Took the cable out and went straight into the amp instead... Wasn't much fun, the tremolo on my Jag is still being a dickhead as well... I gave up soon after...

  • Very much appreciating the War Pigs riff! Sounding good.

  • I already have a (Vintage) Rat on my board and a couple of TS derivative (a Maxon and a Vox Valve Tone), that makes me want to build a Klone even more, they sound VERY good together.

Guilty of wearing the exact same footwear as my round-the-house comfy choice as well 😂

In other news, after seeing a video of the Beatles playing Nowhere Man live with killer jangly tones coming from two Casinos I've started thinking about changing PUs on my Casino once again... Any recommendations out there? Hopefully some good choices that are cheaper than Fralins/Lollars? 🤔

    P90s? Creamery, without hesitation.

  • Took me a while to figure out that I need to crank the filter on the RAT to tame the fizz. Love it now.

  • Share the nowhere man plze?!

  • Lovely touch, have never heard of him... What's the story?

  • Came across him yesterday after hearing that Billy Gibbons produced him. I think he was in the original Giant Sand(worms) lineup with Howe Gelb too. https://youtu.be/xlM2dtvRSU8

  • Not wanting to promote GAS or anything but Andertons are discounting a bunch of JHS pedals at the moment. The Three series ones are down to £85 including the basic but really good sounding reverb.

I've had my eye on their MkIII Tone Bender replica for a while, was enough of a discount to make me pull the trigger.

  • nice nice nice. Payday tomorrow I haven't bought anything since that ummmm... guitar.

    Current listening:

  • need to watch the legends of fuzz thing again. I'm still on the hunt for my fuzzy happy place.

  • Yeah, looking forward to stacking it and seeing what I can get out of it. I quite like the MXR Brown Acid, which is supposedly a Supa Tone Bender circuit, but I’m not sure if the P90s hit it a bit hard.
