  • Get a grip bicycles in Battersea. Good bike shop & great service.

    I'm liking the name!

  • Big Respect (again) to Brixton Cycles. Also Big shout to Future Cycles (Lewes) for helping out demand for obscure parts.

  • Shout for Swrve. Amazing response to a minor problem I had with a wax jacket.

  • planet x and their super efficient warehouse team and delivery service. "wow, only ordered that yesterday morning" uttered twice this month!

Recycles - Surbiton. Had a noise develop on my cassette. Turned out I was a spacer short and things had just worked a little loose. All fitted, fixed and sorted on the spot foc! I salute thee.

  • My local shop Push in Newington Green always sorts me out. Popped in for some brake blocks earlier and noticed their nifty new Push hats. Asked how much they are (10 quid), one of the guys noticed me as a regular (or maybe noticed my LFGSS cap) and they gave me the cap for a fiver. Ace!

  • these guys http://stores.ebay.co.uk/koobikes

Ordered KCNC quick release skewers Tuesday late evening with message saying "i need this really quick", got them first thing in the morning on Thursday. Free delivery.

  • Just bought a tub from Condor, chap asked if I was mounting it tonight, as if so he had a pre-stretched one ready if so.

    That is impressive, I think.

  • OK, this is my first post on here because I thought such excellent service should not go unrewarded, SC Fuller in Dorking just trued my front wheel for free because I had no cash on me and I arrived after closing time, they kept the shop open for an extra 20 mins and charged me nothing. The wheel was totally buggered and I would have been stuck if they hadn't so if anyone goes to watch the last stage of the Tour of Britain nearby I recommend popping in (they have guns too!).

Basically I noticed (whilst descending at about 30mph) I had a few spokes loose (turns out it was all of them) as the front wheel started wobbling badly and braking seemed to make it worse. Not sure how I didn't fall off / soil myself, I can only assume my mechanical incompetence is compensated for by awesome bike rodeo skills...

  • HTC.

Proxiemty sensor went on my phone. Called them. Super helpful. They arranged collection from work via UPS on Tuesday. Fixed it and had it back to me today (Friday). All free under warranty. Excellent website tracker to keep me updated of return and repair.

  • Not bike related but still worth shouting about (though this is going to sound like such a middle class problem): I called up the Guardian today as I didn't get the vegetarian Nigel Slater recipe cards in my Observer at the weekend (the only reason I bought it) and not only did the lady send out the cards, she is also sending me all the cards in the series and the Food Monthly magazine from Sept. Nice :)

  • I had a very good experience with wiggle recently.

Ordered some forks. The steerer had a slight bulge in it that prevent crown race from going on. Emailed wiggle, they responded very quickly and told me to take it to a shop and they would cover any costs for mending it.

Which they did. Very good service.

  • Bikefood (again)

Always impressed with their service. Always quick and an excellent product... which hsa been made even better. Their raw hemp protein powder (now called Gymfood) has been flavoured.

I thought the 'old' stuff was a bit unpleasant flavour wise but their new stuff is lovely. Well done them!

  • Returned to my locked bike to find someone had kicked the back wheel in.
    Nice one.

Took it to Sargent and co as it was the nearest bike shop to see if there was any chance of saving it, turned out there wasn't so he gave me a new (bit tatty but true) wheel and fitted the old tyre on to it for free.

  • Great service from Fitzrovia Bicycles, arranged to take my bike in there Monday for a new chain, chainring and sprocket, got a phone call later that day to say that the chainring I had chosen didn't fit, they had one that would, but unfortunately it would be 40 quid - I didn't even know how much the one I had chosen was, so just said yes please fit it. Picked it up later and rode home, bike is so much better now, really smooth with these new parts.

I was really impressed that I could drop it off early (8 am) and pick it up late (after 6 pm) as this fitted in with my working hours perfectly. And the guys there are super friendly too !!!

  • Another +1 for micycle from me, dropped by to ask if they had any bottle cage screws i could buy and they gave me the 4 of em and refused to take any money for em!

  • Lunar Cycles over in Kentish Town. Took my SS there for a service as they were offering a deal. Very impressed with their customer service.

  • Skinny's in Hackney Wick. Pretty new, I first saw them when they first oepened during the Olympics. Quite close to the Cafe that is called Pearl or something.

Had a few things done there, good service and a nice guy. He even shuddered when I bought a yellow Teman I am currently borrowing.

  • Velosolo - speedy dispatch, excellent post customer care with them posting me a couple of new bearing cages and bearings after the ones that had arrived with my headset were a bit rusty.

Cycle Surgery Moorgate - did a sameday safety check and tune up after my crash. My bike rode like new afterwards, very happy.

  • Lmnh garnished my soup with some crabon assembly paste and a smile despite being mad busy today. Awesome.

  • Lunar Cycles over in Kentish Town. Took my SS there for a service as they were offering a deal. Very impressed with their customer service.

Seconded. Took my bike in after a crash for a once-over, and came out with a perfectly trued front wheel and lots of good advice about the incident. Lovely people.

  • My Blackburn Air Tower II pump's valve attachment decided not to work and after a couple of emails to Madison they sent a new bit to Future Cycles in Forest Row for free.

    I know Madison get's a bad press sometimes, but I can't complain.

  • Not sure of the name of the shop, but I limped in to the shop at 16 Felstead St, Hackney Wick on Saturday with a broken chain and emerged with a mended chain, lots more chain knowledge, a smile on my face and a burning desire to buy the ridiculous lo pro on the wall... Thanks! And sorry for knocking over so many bikes...

Also thanks to all the lovely people who answered my call for help on facebook and suggested I go to Hackney Wick. The offers of help were super lovely :)

  • Hats, who runs the shop now? it used to be owned by Pia (wingedangel on here) but she sold it a few months back.

  • Is it still called Pista Resistance? Listings would indicate as much.
