yesterday at 8.30 am i ordered a 29er for the missus from Rutland Cycles via ebay
Good move, that. They've always been an exemplary (and rather cheap) eBay shop for me. Is it one of the Kona Smoke 29ers? I have one as my miserable-weather bike - veh nice if you don't want to go fast.

I ended up in Rutland Cycles a couple weeks ago on a visit that way to see the folks. They were out of stock on a discontinued waterproof stowaway in my size, but managed to secure one from another local bike shop and have it delivered to my London address within two days. Thumbs up.
Nearby pub £4+ a pint. Thumbs down.

Action Bikes Wimbledon.
Best to go directly to the mechanic, do not pass go, while the shop is a typical chain bike shop, the mechanic does know his stuff and always have some good idea to bypass a problem.

you don't "bypass" a problem, you solve it.

Minor prob with the mojito
Chainstay alignment is not perfect so despite re dishing the wheel there is minor rub o the tyre against chainstay. Called them up and was given two options, take it to a bike shop for assessment and measurement and they would cover the cost or send out a diff pair of tyres
Have taken the tyre option to start with
Seriously excellent service.

great service.
always.- 0.5
I ordered a pair of hubs from them, but they sent me incorrect hubs on 2 occasions. On the third delivery I ended up with what I actually wanted, along with a couple of free inner-tubes to account for the inconvenience, as I'd also ordered rims from them. So very frustrating, but mistakes happen and they redeemed themselves somewhat.

I've always found planet x to be hard work, but that's from a retail side.
As an individual I've not usedthem. -

On One/Planet X - ordered 2 sets of bars on Friday 3pm,25 quid, free delivery, arrived saturday 7.30am. Result. They've only just emailed me to say 'thanks for your order, item will be despatched asap'. Faster than the internetz!

you don't "bypass" a problem, you solve it.
When I says bypass, I mean in the sense of being adaptive, being able to solve it by adapting certain bits to make it work.
'bypass' itself is probably a poor choice of word.

No one wants an unnecessary bypass....
I originally thought I'd post a video of a heart-bypass operation, but the best one I could find was not only NSFW, but also NSF99.97% of the population....
So here's something similar....

Proper gratitude to Brian Rourke’s – received my traditional decal set yesterday, and promptly ripped one of the downtube ones, not realising how fragile they are. There’s no spare downtube decal , unlike for the seattube where I don’t wish to use both, so I rang this morning, prepared to either order and pay for a full replacement set, or at best pay for another replacement downtube on its own, as I explained it was entirely my fault.
They are going to send me a couple of downtube decals free of charge, one being a spare in case of another error, without me even suggesting the idea. Totally satisfied with that – excellent customer service.

+1 Brixton Cycles. Never walked out of there without feeling the love, but extra props to Billy for sorting out a misfiring cassette on a new wheel on the spot. I would have been grumbling after 10mins - he was still smiling after half an hour...

AW Wimbledon for bits and bobs, always a pleasure.Winter build complete - need longer seatpost now oh well
This might be a new record... I think I actually got 5 bags of Haribo from Wiggle when I got my new bike pump last week. Too bad I sort of had to share them with the rest of the office once they saw them.
