  • Cycle Surgery in Spitalfields.

My other half had a puncture on Columbia Road yesterday, usually I am her emergency call out service but was at work so told her to go to evans they told her they wouldn't be able do it all weekend she went to cycle surgery where the person who served her changed it on the spot, glued the sizable split on the tyre and only charged her for the inner £5.

She carried on with her day and it burst again she went to another shop as she was in a different location and was quoted £15, so decided to walk back to Cycle Surgery the guy from earlier recognised her and took another look he sold her a new tyre and gave her a free inner and let her test ride an electric bike while she waited.

When I got home she was well chuffed, if you are on here you are a king amongst men.

The other good thing is she now accepts that she needs to learn how to do it herself and carry the appropriate tools and spares.

  • SJS Cycles

I bought a GB Biba stem from them but it arrived without the clamp bolt.
I called them up but the person I needed to speak to wasn't there so I left my name and number.
In five minutes time I get a call back from them telling me that they have sent out a whole replacement stem (with the appropriate bolts) and I needn't send mine back.
So I've basically got two stems for the price of one.

    Great bike shop.

  • BC and hillbillys help in getting me back on a bike with my funked up back. Nuff respect. I am not just saying this cos he's a mate, as I'm sure his levels of service are consistent with all of BC customers.

  • These people are ace. If you're moving and need boxes you get a load of boxes and all the packing material you need for about £30. They are used but perfect boxes and its shit loads cheaper than if you try and go to a moving place and shit loads easier than scagging them off supermarkets. Quick delivery to your gaff. its a good place for cycle shops.

holdsworth are a source of constant, continuous excellence for me.
always go the extra mile, no matter what.

  • London Bike Repair Shop, just off the cut. Dropped my bike in for a pedal change the other day, last minute "Sorry mate, we don't do on the spot work, but come back in an hour and it should be done" was far better than the answer I was expecting, 60 minutes and a Starbucks later, it was ready to go, all for £7.50.
    Two thumbs up.

I work there but it wasn't me. Sounds like the service we try to uphold though, so bravo to us. I'll pass on the message to who i think it was.

  • Hillbilly and Co at Brixton Cycles again. Thanks for the track nuts. I'll be down with some beers in the week.

  • BC for sorting and fitting a cone locknut on the spot. Condor for sorting me out with some cheap tools. Sjs for keeping stock of obscurities; Matt@ future cycles in Lewes for my never ending 0% interest credit account, and our local coffee shop. Yes!

  • Cycle Surgery in SheBu for being both patient and helpful. Damn it feels good to not rant!

  • +1. The guys at both these places were super helpful to me putting together my first ride.

  • Thanks to the Kiwi guy in Tokyo Fixed for lending me a socket spanner for some emergency repairs!

  • Evans Cycles in Wandsworth - the mechanic fitted my troublesome crown race and all he asked for was a can of strongbow (at an undetermined later date). Cheers fella!

  • Jazz cycles off Holloway Road, hard to find first time but legends, the have even accepted payment in beers for work done and also open until 10pm most evenings.

  • The cycle shop on farringdon road (can't remember the proper name), going to nominate them for bad service as they wanted to charge me £10 to tighten up a lockring that slipped off. Sorry boys, won't be using you ever again

  • Therese at Bike Yard East for being amazingly helpful over the last few months with my minor problems and helping me build up my Cinelli. Very fun to talk to as well and very helpful regarding openness and advice. Lovely.

Also a guy at CycleSurgery at Spitalfields who is very nice and also helpful, almost bought some white cycling shoes, before I changed my mind. Thank god. Nice chap though!
