  • Interesting, that's cheaper than I thought. What size was it? I paid about $18 for the one I got you, I think it's the exclusivo, the corona size anyway.

  • Same one I think - it could've been slightly smaller... They were in pretty bad condition though. Maybe they would open another box if you asked, but a lot of the Padrons on display were in bad nick - I wouldn't have bought any of them.

  • 26th is all good for me, depending on locale.
I'll be on the allez as my fixie is in bits.

  • Just found out I have dinner plans on the 26th. Should still be able to make a herf if we kick off by 1 or 2pm.

  • Starting by 1 is fine by me. We still need a location, and to know how many people are up for it...

  • I had a nice experience in Casa Del Habanos on Wardour St. yesterday. I went in with my GF to buy a couple of cigars. The salesman was friendly, helpful, and knowledgable, which couldn't have been more different from my last experience in Selfridges. Also, all the cigars I looked at were in perfect condition. If I had to criticise the place, I could only really say that it didn't have a massive selection. It had a decent selection, just not quite as large as other shops that I've been in. It also only sells Cubans...

Anyway, I bought a Ramon Allones Gigantes, and a Petit Punch:

  • BQ, are you coming to the herf on Sat? Congrats on the Wedding by the way!

  • we got a location for saturday?
i'll be getting into to cityside for about 1230ish

  • Good question. I'll try to look into venues but have a lot going on at the moment. I'm also bikeless now, so I'll need to take public transport.

  • We could maybe go to 'The George Inn' if rain isn't forecasted:

  • sounds good to me.

  • Looks good. Let's hope there's no rain.

  • Bikeless? What haddened to your black machine D?

  • It ended up under a car last Monday.

I'm on a crutch now, although it's a very minor injury. Getting the damage appraised to get it replaced and get back on the bike.

  • fuck me!
    Really sorry to hear that.
Hope you heal up quick and you're not (too) financially damaged.
Tell us all about it on Sat

What we really need is a place like that Wetherspoons we went to in your neck of the woods (for the last herf). I'm not suggesting that we go back there though, primarily because it is fucking miles away from where I live. But an outdoor space with big awnings, and heaters would be ideal. I've tried to find a suitable venue on 'beerintheevenings', and 'londontown' etc. but have so far been unsuccessful - but there must be the perfect place out there just waiting to be discovered (or at least somewhere that fits our requirements). I'm sure you already have done, but if we all keep looking we're bound to find a better option than the George Inn... My concern is that we turn up, and it's either really cold, or it starts raining 10 minutes after we've all sparked-up monsters. I would look at the George as a last resort...

  • What about the Mudlark in Southwark......it's an average boozer, but it defo has a heated, covered outside area.....

check it out on Google Street View?

  • Nice one dalester, that looks better than the George - reviews say that it's good for outdoor smoking in the cold...

  • The Approach in E2 is exactly right for outside space, but miles away from you of course.

  • Not hugely helpful. I can name a handful of places in Balham, Clapham and Camberwell that would be absolutely perfect... But they're too far away for the masses.

    It's got to be central.
