If you enjoyed the Petit Edmundo, you might want to try the following:
Bolivar Royal Corona
Trindad Robusto T
Ramon Allones Specially Selected
Partagas Serie D4
Juan Lopez No. 2 Robusto
Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No 2 (good rep, though I find it too mild....)....they're all similar length & ring gauge - all cuban (I am slightly biased), although there are excellent non-cubans (e.g. Padron 1926); however, I reckon you'll enjoy these ;-)
Some good tips and definitely in line with the size and vitola that he liked. However, some of the strength/flavour profiles of those are pretty different. If somebody told me they liked a Monte I wouldn't suggest a PSD4 or RASS off the bat.
The Juan Lopez is an underrated gem though, and a great recommendation based on the Monte. The Bolivar is a classic that everyone should try.
I guess I'd add the ERdM Choix Supreme and the RyJ Hermoso 4 to the mix as ones to check out after the Monte. Different flavours but on the milder side of the spectrum.

Saturday's weather looks like it will cooperate. I would like to go for a ride in the morning and would be up for spending an afternoon in pints and cigars.

Yo,
So all cigars have arrived except for the Trinidads, which should hopefully arrive by Friday.
I'm around tomorrow evening, though I'm not really able to travel as I'm staying at my GF's. If you want to come and meet me in Clapham tomorrow eve, let me know. Otherwise, whoever comes down on Sat should hopefully get all their cigars!
PM me for my number if yo want to try and meet before Sat.

Oh, and Dale - how did the Choix Supreme go down?

Well done, Jammie.

In terms of when and where this Saturday link up should be - how about 2pm @ Borough Market? There's a pub just around the corner with a decent outdoor area. It's on the river, and can get cold, but if the weather is meant to be nice it should be fine. I can't remember what it's called, but Dale will know... It's right next to a full-size replica ship (tourist attraction)...

The old thameside? Might be a bit further down though...
Sounds like a plan to me.
I'm gonna be in the city from about 11am -

Nice to put some faces to names!
Sorry I couldn't hang about longer. Next time maybe! -
• #762
It was nice to meet a few new people and smoke in good company. Unfortunately pubs near borough market on the river don't seem to be a secret on sunny days. Next time we'll find a place with better service and more comfortable smoking space.

Anyone had any experience with Don Ramos?
Hondouran I think.
Seen a good priced sampler pack, worth buying?I'm very much a cigar novice. I am really enjoying the Sancho Bachilleres from the group order

Fairly light, balanced, but uninspiring.
Personally I view cigar smoking as an "experience" & DR's have always seemed (to me) like "smoking for smoking's sake".
If you like the Sancho's, you might want to try "San Cristobal El Principe".

Guys, anyone near Camberwell/Brixton who can pick up some cigars for me from Forms before he goes away for holidays? I'm stuck
-
• #772
Cheers, but I think he was too busy and I left it too late.
Well, I gave up smoking, so I can wait until my cravings stop. -
• #773
Alright guys. Yeah, I've been really busy for the last couple of weeks. I'm leaving on a short (12 day) cycle tour through the Netherlands and Germany tomorrow at about 6am. I've been horribly busy preparing my unsuitable steed, luggage arrangements, and tying loose ends up at work.
Dale, as you know I have responded to your PM, and yes I would love to go for a smoke. John (harrong) is also interested in another link up. Once again, I suggest that we link at the Sun and Doves, shortly after I get back from the tour.
Kris. Too late I'm afraid buddy. I'm back on the 28th (though I'll mostly be sleeping on that day), anytime after that we can arrange a delivery/collection - if ur about that weekend it could work well - let me know what you want to do asap!
Hope everyone's well, catch you all when I get back!

I am defo up for another smokemeet, but not sure when I am free.
I am coming up next week (24th) to pop to that brewery d.gen went to, to grab a few beers.
If anyones about and fancies a meet then, let me know
Apart from the Guiness, I'm definitely in. Back to work tomorrow, I'm hoping all of the cigars will be waiting for me (a box or 2 still might not have arrived, though they almost certainly will have done by Friday).
I'll update this thread asap and let you guys know the situation.
