I see the point of logging out of computers in public places (work, library etc) but why log out of your personal laptop if you are the sole user? I have a log in on start up but after that it stays logged in till I shut it down at the end of the day. I also fail to see how this leaves me open to being hacked? (largely because I know very little about it)

That's what a password on sleep is for...

Lock when you walk away, or just shut it.
