Lets turn this on its head ...
If she was a bloke who was obese and gay, this dicussion wouldn't take place.
- because GA2G isn't gay and would not have started the thread (before anyone points that ou)
- because everyone would agree "he" would just be a fat loud smelly tosser.

does this make me a bad person?Strangely, this almost comes across as an anti-gay statement. But I totally agree with you, that Dale Winton (can anyone in the world actually apply more make-up and not overbalance?) and Graham Norton are rancid. However, I would love to spend time in the company of a stage presence such as Ian McKellen.

Okay, so the photo of Beth attempting to lick her on shed foot, is gross. But it shows the sort of gymnastic ability that I think most people would love to have in their partners.

My point , Oliver, was that Bach or Raphael are great art, but have to be seen as great in the context of either Renaissance or Germany in the mid 18th Century.
The salient point about greatness is that it transcends 'context' (whatever that means--as I said above, the facts of love and death haven't changed in any way and supervene on accidental attendant conditions).
The same conditions won't and can't be repeated. We don't relate to music or visual art in the same way: I could have said consume, but did'nt want to for obviuos reasons.
This is certainly a concern for lesser art, yes. It is not for that which endures irrespective of it.

No, because I'm on holiday and the last thing I need is an art debate!
Fair enough, let's have it when you get back. ;P
Also, because the absurdity of discrediting contemporary art and artists by a comparison with Raphael and Bach (both of whom I agree are great) speaks for itself. Personally I think context is everything. Technical virtuosity does not equal cultural relevance.
What is absurd in setting the bar high?
It is rather logically obvious that context is not everything. If it were, what could possibly be left to which it could form a context?
The genius of Raphael or Bach of course goes far beyond technical virtuosity. There have been plenty of virtuosos, like Liszt, who were plainly not anywhere near the same league.

she had one great song and the rest was crap.
i dont find anything about being overweight and bloated attractive, for me its just as ugly as being really thin. stop celebrating being fat as the anti thin, its horrific and just as grotesque.
