when anyone uses the term 'light years away' it's best to point out that this is a unit of distance, not time.

Yes. 'At the end of the day' has seeped into the lungs of our nation like a dose of idiot TB. It's a phrase for people who can't form a proper argument and just want to voice their dim opinion.
How I loathe it...

New one (to me) going around my employer at the moment is to 'de-risk' something. I like to picture it as something similar to docking lambs' tails.

The favourite in here presently is "call to action" sometimes shortened to "CTA"

In that case, take out the little ink pipe from a Biro and discard it, then keep the empty pen in your back pocket.
When he next goes to the stationary cupboard follow him in, shut the door behind you and stab him repeatedly in the throat. Leave the pen there for all to see and exit the cupboard in tears, claiming that you found him choking on a pencil eraser and you were trying to save him with an emergency tracheotomy.
Even if he lives, he will be a mute.
Now get to it!
Ha! Amazing long-term strategeering there Lucy!

"Is this what good looks like?"
and
"This is not what good looks like"A cowardly term used to question someones creative output without having to articulate or justify what you mean.

Will this wash it's own face?

We have a cowardly expression in our office. It goes "hmm, my feeling is that.....". It means "you're talking shit or your opinion is irrelevant, here's my idea.....". By talking about your 'intuitive feelings' as an autonomous emotional response, you sidestep the fact that, basically, you disagree. It's rife here; everyone goes around saying it.
"So what do you think of my proposed elevation?" she said. "Hmm, my feeling is that it could be better articulated like this..." etc.
Architecture doesn't do the usual management jargon on the whole, but we do have our own language of bullshit. Honestly, it's unreal.

We need to kick all these crap buzzwords into the long grass.
I don't like the way sports pundits have started talking about Units. They've got a strong batting unit, a strong attacking unit. He's a big unit. etc etc.

Blair's 'What I would say to you is...' introduction, spoken right before he does, in fact, as promised, say what he was intending to all along. I get it. You're going to tell me something, your mouth has opened. It's a give-away. I don't need the foreplay. Sock it to me, wonky-political man.
