  • No, industrial designer.

I've just done a quick tour of the studio (nobody's here, ANZAC day):
The industrial designer who sits next to me is a "Solutions Wrangler"
The software engineer is a "Code Monkey"
The administrator is "Organisational Glue (Administrator)"
The Senior Design Engineer is a "Senior Design Engineer" presumably because he's so cantankerous they didn't even bother to try.
The person who came up with all this is the "Story Strategist"

  • Dear God.

  • Is the person in charge the Chief Cunt?

  • The software engineer is a "Code Monkey"

    Now, that's just an insult.

  • some HR E&D type at my place tried to halt our using of Survey Monkey arguing that it is racist

needless to say when they got rid of him there was no talk of backfill

  • Anecdata

  • Heh. I actually really like it and intend to use it as much as possible.

  • 'Let's turn it on its head'

    Let's not.

  • 'play it back'

    'reverse optioneering'

    'polar perspectivise'

    'opposite spin'

or we could just re-consider from a different set of prioirities

  • some cunt at work keeps using 'digital estate'

  • that cunt is me

  • I use 'spreadsheet universe' when I describe the stuff I look after... I don't know how it started, but it's become a habit.

  • nothing more reprehensible than a digital estate agent

    we should virtualise our portfolio

  • 'Pulling'

    e.g.
    'Pull some stats on...'
    'Pulling me off [a project]'

  • Spinning up.

Not just "spin up a new VM" (which is borderline) but "we're going to spin up a new team to do X".

  • Piece.

You've got your networking piece there and soon you'll be able to plug your cloud and your IaaS piece into that.

  • ^ not heard that but was recently doing an Office 365 migration plan for a company and got very sick of people saying 'on prem'

  • Yup.

    Piece.

"vertical alignment across the whole content strategy piece"

  • 'road map'

  • flagging up

  • Point person

  • Reactivation

  • Why are our politicians now 'red lining' hither and thither?
