just watched the final sprint, Cav just sat up when he saw Petacchi go. I'm disappointed and i'm not even a fan.
Clearly knows that he has no chance of Green or he would have gone for the placing.
Sitting up whilst at the front of a sprinting pack is pretty moronic... -

But Thor would have sprinted for the line on the last stage if Cav hadn't been docked the points, he would have beaten or finished close to Cav, thus negating the argument that Cav would have won without the points dock.
yeh but Cav would have had an extra egg for breakfast on the 14th stage if Thor had got second place in the third intermediate sprint two days before and with that extra egg inside him he'd have won a seventh stage. And it's no use telling me Thor would have had more muesli if they hadn't run out of milk; he's a pro, he knows he needs to check the fridge in the morning.

Two eggs, scrambled, on a potato cake. Small strong coffee, dash o' milk. Tangerine. Green Jersey, done.

Some good shots of how chaotic the stages have been so far...

Fuck me General I was all set to press Control V.
Picture 12 is especially good. -

As for the sprint today, Cav fucked it through nerves and through watching the wrong line.
Petacchi executed an awesome sprint on Cav's left while he watched the right, he was reaching top speed before Cav had started accelerating properly, Cav slumped back to save his powder for tomorrow. He's only young, and he's making a few young mistakes.
He'll get the stages soon enough. -

Yeah, 2011 when I retire his voodoo doll.

Nah.
I've got the inside track with him.
I knew him when he was a young lad, sucking strangers cocks to pay for inner tubes and sunglasses:
I said to him, 'Cav,' I said, 'Cav, my boy, don't be like that tool McEwen. He couldn't outsprint Hippy while riding one of Cancellara's 'special' bikes. You stick with me and you'll go a long way. Now say cheese, kneel down, and swallow.'He's a fucking pro.

He should know better than to take down an Aussie. We're motherfucking magic.
I note you had to kneel down to make it look like he was the shortarse he is.. are you sure the roles you outlined above weren't somehow reversed? :)

Apparently, he has 7,350 inner-tubes, and 3,600 pairs of sunglasses now...
(smart boy, its for his retirement fund)

Don't they birch Manxmen for that kind of behaviour?

I'd like to go watch at stage this year - looking for a day trip from Paris - anyone have any suggestions? Bordeaux perhaps?

I cant help but think that both Cav and Thor, are a bit caught up with each other. They seemed to be watching each other too much and forgeting about everyone else. They are the fastest two guys out there, but not by a big enough margin that they can ignore other peoples moves. Especially after that incredibly fast last 15Km. The HTC tactics were disrupted, and everyone split. Neither Cav or Thor had the legs to rectify things. Thor said it straight out, after the race. He did'nt feel strong, he was just tired.
Much as I'd have liked a British victory, I was following EBH pretty closely too. The Norwegian commentators seemed to think he might save himself for a slightly longer/lumpier stage, for which he would be better suited. But they picked out his distinctive green shoes early on, moving up the pack.
Those last couple of km's were brilliant, and with an amazing amount of British and Norwegian interest all over the race. I'm enjoying this tour massively, and its only just started.

well done Edvald BH
Totally agree.
I'd love to see him grab a stage win. He has the ability to do it to.

In Eric Zabel's interview at the end of the ITV4 coverage he said that the lead-out train was fine and Cav just didn't have the legs. He looked a bit fed up, but his honesty was nice.

No they aren't. Petacchi's still got the edge for max power (same goes for the absent Boonen), and riders like Farrar and Boasson Hagen probably have as much snap (and McKewen, despite his age).
Teams have got wise to the mechanics of the HTC train, which is 90% of the Cav equation.

Fair enough. They certianly watched each other like there was no other contention, and its not like you can miss the Lampar colours positioning themselves.
The EBH snap was pretty impressive considering where in the pack he came from. I thought he'd missed out when it all kicked off. Then saw his name come up as second. Impressive stuff.

Not any more.
We enjoyed it too much.
