Good interview with David Millar on NY Velocity couple of weeks ago gives a bit of insight into the "everybody's at it" attitude when he got busted; you had to get the UCI ranking points to get the bonuses in your contract. Same bonus culture that fucked the financial markets. http://nyvelocity.com/content/interviews/2009/david-millar-interview
And the Ricco interview in Feb's Procycling is jaw-dropping for all the wrong reasons. WAC.
Gotta love Millar.

Zabel and Aldag have been virtually silent on it since their confessions, haven't they?
I didn't even know Zabel had confessed until quite recently and Aldag, no idea. Maybe it's only in the German press?
Riis - did he confess or was he exposed?

"When I was young, I fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows, day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said.Que Cera, Cera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Cera, Cera
What will be, will be."nicked from [ame="http://forum.cyclingnews.com/member.php?u=2299"]CyclingNews Forum - View Profile: B.Rasmussen@@AMEPARAM@@View Profile: B.Rasmussen@@AMEPARAM@@B.Rasmussen[/ame]

Sky announced their team for the tour today.
The full line-up is: Michael Barry, Steve Cummings, Juan Antonio Flecha, Simon Gerrans, Edvald Boasson Hagen, Thomas Löfkvist, Serge Pauwels, Geraint Thomas and Bradley Wiggins.
Looks like the team was chosen for a big challenge on the GC.

Basso riding is he? He must be due another 2 year holiday or Kirchen, he'll need a 'pick-me-up' once he gets out his sleep

There was a programme about the Tour de France on Radio 4 this afternoon. It took a rather philosophical look at the event. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00ss46b

Geraint Thomas has ridden the tour before hasn't he? Barloworld, '06 (guess).
Just having a heated discussion with a colleague. -

Slightly unrelated to the topic at hand, but has anyone been to watch the finish in Paris before?
My mother in law is visiting this summer and we'd planned to take a weekend trip to Paris anyway and it turns out she'll be here that weekend. I've got transportation and accommodation sorted, and I guess I can figure out the obvious things (get there early, bring sun cream) but anything else I should keep in mind?

Just having a heated discussion with a colleague.Yes he has, but I think it was 2007. He finished in second last place but given his age, he was 21 at the time, that was quite some achievement.

From things read on here getting a good viewing position involves getting there early compared to when the sun rises not early compared to when the riders might arrive.

I'll be in the south west for the last two stages before Paris is anyone fancies a glass of wine/epo.

Watching Cavendish, Hushovd and Boasson Hagen battle it out for stage wins will be much more exciting than watching Lance and Contador.

Both Boonen and Haussler are out of the Tour, due to knee injuries that were exacerbated by a recent, high profile crash.
Cavendish's manouvere at the Tour of Switzerland is making more sense by the day. ;-)

That. sucks.
Cervelo was my team this year. (you need to choose a team, right? that's how this works? I "supported" Motorpoint Marshalls Pasta for the Halfords tour series and they won. I was doing well).
