I wasn't criticising him, just pointing out what happened. His sprint today was amazing, he was 10 metres clear after his initial jump and had time to ease up and enjoy it.
i know mate.
at ease. -

was there not one after that he won?
-
• #2429
i don't know, that's what i'm asking you..
i don't think so. -
• #2430
I'm not too sure but I think he did win one all on his own before todays stage but I could be wrong and usually am.
-
• #2431
you missed one
-
• #2432
He won a bunch sprint but not the stage the other day coming off Hushovd's wheel.
-
• #2433
yeah, it's starting to ring a bell...
so has he got 4 wins?
-

What's the theory's about his bad start?

I reckon that's true. I don't believe that either Wiggins or Armstrong, just using them as example,s are any less physically fit than last year and look at the differences in placing this year.

^OMG, my brain's just exploded.

It wasn't intentional, not sure how it happened, don't really care.

He benefitted today from Petacchi going early, so he got a perfect lead out from him. Petacchi went early on purpose, he wanted points for the green jersey and didn't want to get boxed in so second or third was fine for him.

What helped Cavendish was the premature jump from Petacchi, gifting him the ideal platform from which to accelerate. The Italian went deliberately, being as he was in the market for points in the sprinters' competition, wishing to avoid his racing line becoming obscured by other riders, and knowing that any finish inside the top 3 would suffice.

I'm naive, I thought Cav left everyone for dead even without Renshaw.
-
• #2444
cav seems to excel in the really really fast finishes. amazing seeing him riding off the front of peloton, also seems to get the right wheels and just has that extra gear.

I think he's a young guy, extremely naturally talented, he may have won more stages last year but this year he's learn't more and earned a lot more fans and respect. I think he's sheer class.
-
• #2447
Make your mind up: is he 'sheer' class, or 'pure' class?
-
• #2448
Pure. In retrospect 'sheer' sounds a bit ghey.
