  • i think that's pretty well put, actually.

  • can somebody please tell me what's funny about that strip in general? it seems that because it's 'about a cyclist' it gets posted all the time, but no one really wants to admit it's quite shockingly unfunny.

Who says comic strips have to be funny? You are *such *a hater.

  • Ned Boulting collared one of the Saxobank mechanics on last nights highlights who said he'd managed to bend the chain catcher which was fitted.
It is a mystery. Quote from Schleck via Voigt says he wasn't shifting at the time - it just happened.

  • schlek uses the bigger jockey wheels as was mentioned by the commentators early last week, supposedly to help reduce friction or something 0.5% increase performance.

  • You mean Sky/BC don't have an exclusive on 'marginal gains'? I'm shocked.

  • Zinn reckons it's do with the SRAM jockey wheels, but Schleck uses the modified varsion as designed by Wolfgang Berner

    Not always.

"(However, if Schleck was using this upgraded version, that loop might not have been there, and my theory may have a huge hole in it. But the video is inconclusive whether he has this cage [I actually think the beginning of the video with the mechanics shows the loop], and you’ll find plenty of photos online from the Tour showing unadulterated Red rear derailleurs on various of Cancellara’s and Schleck’s bikes, save for special painting – yellow for the yellow jersey, or gold for Cancellara’s world and Olympic medals.)"

  • Yeah!

Campag? I'm not sure our Aussie friend is gonna like that edit.

  • Robert Millar interview on CN http://bit.ly/b5jMvx

  • right so who's up for an afternoon at LMNH's to watch the " Duel on the Tourmalet "
    i think i'll pile over about 1-2ish

  • i'm in

might try and get there a bit earlier... maybe midday.

there are 2 cat 1 climbs earlier on before the biggie at the end.

  • when does the stage actually start
would be good to watch all the days saddle action

LMNH at start of stage ?

  • it starts at 12:30 CET, so I that is 11:30!

i am up for that. gonna take half day.

  • ok full stage then joe
    see you there

  • cool

  • Tourmalet this morning, forecast for this afternoon EPICNESS

  • That, or they'll ride like a bunch of babies 'cause it's "too dangerous." Pah!

Although this is an important stage for Schleck if he has hopes of returning to yellow.

Some points on the line for Thor at the beginning as well. He'll probably try and make an early break.

    Looking forward to this!

  • Weather could go either way for Urban Hill Climb this eve, whatever, hope we replicate the Tourmalet conditions (except length of climb)

Expecting conservative marking tactics from Contador, it's down to Schleck to attack, hope Moreau gets the polka dot and Hippy will win on Swains.

  • Charteau and Dale.

Hey Winston, I lost my rolla cap in the canal the other night. You going to have some at the event?

  • Was it on Hippy's head at the time?....I am now....Dale could win ...if he even starts.

  • I might come down for the Tourmalet. I can't take a day off work, so will have to take a late lunch for the exciting bit.

Any idea when the stage is expected to finish?

  • About 4?

  • About 4?

Hmm, so I might take lunch at 3ish then. I'll wait until they have topped the second climb.

Schleck has taken everything he can and will go for a solo 150k stage win, taking 29min out of Contador*

*As likely as me winning Swain's. Your bloke is already doing 1:45. I'm aiming for a sub-2:30. But thanks for your vote of confidence :)

    FAT POWER!

    You posted me mine, bastardo!

He's local and whippet-like and I'm off to the hospital now to have blood taken. Damn.. wonder if they can give me some extra back?
