Just run a regular v brake lever. I am running a XT V brake lever with mini vs and the pull is brilliant and I love it. Are you getting TRP Spyre or HY/RD? I have a Spyre and I am thinking about returning it and getting it for the HY/RD so if you want it I can post it over tomorrow.

Paul Canti lever? Shimano do a flat-bar short pull lever too.

I want to get a hyrd one.

Going to switch to a short pull brake, and not the biggest fan of bmx style levers.
What the hell are you doing? Are you sure you've thought about the ramifications?
Why don't you just completely lose it and run a Dia Compe Gold Finger?

So ... I need some 700c wheels. Or maybe just a rear and i can muddle though on the front. 36 at least. Strong, cheap, dented but true is fine. Cheap please.

Anyone want a 6 month old hija f+f?
Now sold. Next up the makings of a nice polo bike
Large white pomp frame (suit someone 175cm+), commuted on for 18 months so usual rubs and scratches but no dents or cracks. Forks are kona p2's which can take discs or v brakes. I also have a 700c 48h wheelset (cheap hubs to sputniks), rik style double brake lever on some flat bars, square taper fsa mtb crankset with small chainring and bashguard, vbrakes, seatpost, etc.
The bike needs a bottom bracket, headset, chain and pedals to be complete.
I'd like to sell this as complete as I can but if I get good offers on the frame/forks/wheels I'll split. I'm looking for 300 gbp.
Also have some size 42 shimano M085 spd shoes in winners gold with multi release cleats for beers if anyone wants.
PM me for more details.

Yet another polo fad?
-
• #5968
Fad or not but there was a player at the Worlds who ran a HY/RD disc caliper and it was pretty good according to Luca, maybe that's why he's going for it?
I can't speak for Luca, but I have posted quite a few times that I am looking at short pull disc combined with regular long pull levers with pull adjustment. I have the Spyre sitting on my desk but I might or might not put it on the bike as I am too looking at the HY/RD.
My reasoning is that I am currently running mini-vs with regular long pull lever and love it hence thinking of doing the same when I go disc. Major win or fail? Won't know till I try.

Who knew levers could be interesting!

We all thought the mapping of forces about a pivot was solved aaages ago!
-
• #5971
excuse my ignorance what is HY/RD?
is it like HTFU? -
• #5972
Lever pulls cable, cable operates on hydraulic master cylinder down by the caliper, hydraulic pressure operates pistons. I assume they're less damagable on court. You get the even pad pressure you should get with hydro, but the downside is you've got the same amount of cable friction as a normal cable-disc system.

Tl;dr: Hydraulic, for the road.
But for that, I'd choose SRAM Red 22 hydrobrifters.
-
• #5974
hydrobrifters is an awful word.
-
• #5975
Yeah, pros don't use any vatiations of the word "brifter".
Going to switch to a short pull brake, and not the biggest fan of bmx style levers.
