  • think 120mm will be too much, thanks anyway Sandy.

dont want them too narrow but can imagine i will end up with standard. thank you.

  • I might do Bells. What size clamp? Are you handlebars normal or oversized?

  • normal i reckon. its good to know you might have one. i am going to borrow cams bars so i should of done my research first and asked him what size he has, will get back to you joni! thanks guys.

  • No worries, let know and I'll have a look. I'd be keen to do a swap for smaller.

  • @Bells I have a 110mm Thompson if you wanted to go posh... 5deg rise...

  • also i'm looking for a 90mm stem to see what extension can do. if any one has one i could have a go with i'd be grateful.

  • Ha, is it for sale?

Yes, its 440 long, black and not in the prettiest state.
    Yours for 25quid.

  • Just put some 170 shimano deore external BB cranks on. Hope they go good. Probably looking likely to sell on my wethepeople bmx cranks, bb axle etc. 165mm and profile 27T CR (couple months old) V good condition.

    im interested B, how much?

  • Warship is looking for some nice, light cranks btw.

  • does anybody have a 110 or 100 mm stem lying about that would fit a pompino?

    How do Bells.

I have a 100mm in 'regular' sized, and 110mm in oversized and a 130mm in oversized.
The 100mm is on my beater so I'd like to swap it for another one that's shorter, ideally 50mm.
The 110mm is for beers and the 130mm is brand new 3t so would like £10 mates rates.

  • thanks Joni, i am coming souths tonight so we can chin wag further!

  • I've got a 100m 1 1/8" 25.4 clamp stem somewhere, I'll chuck it in my bag if I can find it... Yours for 6 blue top Kronies...
    No, I don't...

  • What a good weight for a light crankset?

  • 20g would be a good weight...

  • If it were possible...

  • Clearly none of my technical questions are aimed at you...
Especially when this is your avatar

Anyhoo, Warship wants some lighter cranks, has a decent amount of dollah.
I'm looking at something like these:
    http://www.themountainbikeking.com/Crank_Arms/cat1095246_980020.aspx

Btw, if anyone is looking for DH cranks, Saints etc, there are a fair few over here:
    http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/list/?region=5&category=16&page=1

So can someone remind me what size and thread pompinos are, and are Saint's fairly light?

  • I miss Gabes.

  • Pomps have a 68mm BB shell.

  • As to weights, I don't have the spec sheets to hand (read: I'm too lazy to Google, DIY...), but I suspect XC cranks (Deore and the like) will be lighter than the more DH/freeride oriented models such as Saint.

  • Yeah I've googled it and could only find 'saints have shed 150g in weight', not their actual weight.
I guess it's all relative to what cranks she got atm.
    Cheers Chris.
The next best thing to Gabes. ;)

  • Pomps are 68mm english threaded, saint w/ hollowtech should fit. The newer version is lighter but I think Saints are around 1000g? (av. crankset weight around 600g +/-)

PM'ed you a useful list Jones.

  • Depends where you look.

1168g According to Bike Radar and Velospec
1118g for a slight different crank, - Velospec
    1114g according to MTBR
