Why no good? We all run a 10mm axle. All modern BMX's run a 10mm axle??
BMX rears are almost always 14mm axles, 110 spaced (As Gabes says).
Fronts come in either 10 or 14mm and are 100mm spaced. -

with a geometry like this , would 58 top tube make it like a 58 on a track bike ? ( that would be quite large )
and would that take rear v brakes ?
i like it -

Takes cantilever brakes though I'm sure V-brakes will fit the same bosses.
It says 58 toptube. It might be a 58 seat tube center to top but has a lower toptube.
Will be smaller than a regular 58 for sure.Perfect for polo + disc brake goodness. Need a decent fork and that's it.

i like itYou and Luis could fight for the ugliest bike in Paris ;)
I believe canti and V-brake = same bosses. U-brake is different.

Luis wins hands-down

In this weather disc brakes would be a pleasure.
Gabes is using a rear disc. One of seattle uses a disc and has a home made protector guard. -
• #186
I like that a lot!!
my only concerm will be the wheel base, it will be huge, making it no the best chooice for keeping, but eh Luis is rolling with a similar thing and seens to be fine

-
• #190

possible tandem/touring hubs?..

You can get 26" Sun Rhynos, 48 hole, laced to LX hubs from SJS. A set for around 200 quid. That would be some serious free wheel polo bike porn.

48h BMX hub will be cheap for the front so it's just a case of getting a 48 rear.
Velocity, Milwaukee, Halo all do 48 fixed hubs.If you're going freewheel there are more options.
On another note,
I might get some v-brakes and an adapter plate and see if that helps braking.
I was thinking this a while back and noticed recently Cameron has this set-up... -

no they don't and BMX rear hubs are 110mm spaced, not 120/126/135
Someone at BLB suggested I could find a 130? spaced 48 hole hub on a 10mm axle. I've been looking but can't find anything. Is he chatting shit?
Actually thinking about it, he said they were easier to respace than a track hub, adding a longer axle.
Help. Ass-ist-ance.

^ Ali asked me about that. Can't remember where I got the plate from. Works a lot better than I'd imagined though.
-
• #197
if the axle is long enough, you can just use spacers/washers.
or squeezing your dropouts is no big deal. -
• #198
Winstanlys have sold out of v plates. Think billys bmx has them or could order them in...
-
• #199
so potentially i could run something close to this?
-
• #200
but for that price you could get specific 48 fixed hubs...
Yes, want!
