  • Weather's set to be decent - should be fairly warm too.

  • Gutted to be missing this.

  • Are you gonna be posting drunk race updates for us?

  • hippy, I am very disappointed that you will not be there to cheer me on. For some reason, Mrs O is even more disappointed.

  • cheers

Hi Mrs O. Don't let cliveo get too muddy. :)

  • Damn, unfortunately couldn't make it though had an entry - Dom is representing though. Should nearly be done...

  • Just got home. Managed to see the Vets and Womens race and the final race. Shame I missed the Go Race! race but I was half way through chopping a bush down when I realised I had to leave now, but couldn't.

Good stuff. Great event, well organised guys. See you there next year. I may even enter.

  • I was chopping the bush down in my garden btw, not at the venue.

Don't want anyone thinking I'm some kind of horticultural vandal.

  • that was fun. top racing, great outfits and comedy moments.

  • That was a brilliant night out only marred by my woeful performance.

It was very scary out there in the dark. Very scary indeed.

Well done Winspar, JC and everyone. A truly wonderful event.

  • what a great event... well done rollapaluza, that was superb

  • Some rather spectacular acrobatics over that foot high obstacle in the beer tent, until a member of Kiss kindly steam-rollered straight through it! :D

Awesome fun. I want a cyclo-x bike. Need to get a mountain bike first though...

  • Absolutely brilliant event, put on by hugely dedicated vols. It was amazing. Great racing and ents, an all-round success. Well done RP and everybody who helped!

  • Wicked night..thanks for coming! my favourite bit was the starts .....all those charging white lights!....Oh and Jos coming second in his race ....fixed! unreal.........!

  • and a massive thanks to the volunteers, this kind of event relies on them and the amount of effort put in buy guys who just want to help out to get the event off the ground was truely awesome.....and I never use that word.

  • A great event!

And some amazing costumes too. What the hell was bacofoil man about?! :-)

Props to the Rolla crew etc. for sorting everything out.

  • That was fantastic fun. Thanks to Winston, Caspar, JC, and RPM for organising it and too all those who gave up their time in helping out over the last week. As a rider it's very much appreciated.

To all those from the forum who were there offering support, thank you. You can't really see or hear anyone individually as you race past but it's a real buzz to race with a vocal and pissed passionate crowd spurring you on. I was hoping to finish in the top ten of the Vets race and my last lap death or glory strategy worked as I caught two riders to move me up to 9th. Yay! :-)

  • P.S. I need someone from a BMX background to show me how to ride the Hurdy Gurdy. My crash there was pathetic!

  • I am so sore this morning.

  • Imagine how it would have been if you'd done 7 laps Clive!

  • Amazing night I really enjoyed it, thanks to all who put it on. The track was brilliant and really fun in the dark. Getting a puncture in my first lap was annoying but fixed it so I could go back out for a few more laps, and then got another puncture on the bell lap!

  • RPM

If I could make a suggestion for next year.

How about a couple of training sessions in the weeks before hand to stop some of us (ie me) riding like complete pillocks. Thank goodness my battery died and saved me from further embarrassment. Two crashes on my practice lap and heavens knows how many involuntary dismounts.

Andy, I doubt that I would have survived seven more laps. I was very apprehensive of broken limbs and am quite sure that I would have been rushed to King's if I had gone much further. My soreness comes mainly from my falls in practice. I found undressing last night quite difficult as the blood had stuck my knee warmers to me. I had cuts and bruises in places that I didn't realise had been bumped.

  • Brilliant evening, awesome organisation, loads and loads of fun... Well done to everyone! :D

  • P.S. I need someone from a BMX background to show me how to ride the Hurdy Gurdy. My crash there was pathetic!

do you mean the rhythm section? pump it don't jump it. or manual it if you have skilz.

  • I have to admit, that was fun. That and I wasn't as bad at it as I was last time. BTW, nice to meet you Mr Smyth, and Clive, I'll send you an email to forward onto your daughter about bikes when I get a moment.
