It's not a repost i dont think - there was a thread on the forks that Ed started but that's not the same.
I've emailed them asking if I could have it without the 'alleycat' bit of the graphics and the cable guides removed/not out on in the first place.
I've decided I like it!

Actually the extra decals are so ill-fitting they kind of work...

I look at it and think it would make a SS nice cyclocross

Oh well I never,
was there ever a cat so clever,
as magical Mister Mistoffelees -

Mungojerrie and Rumpleteaser...
A very notorious couple of catz! -

apparently they cant do anything to alter them (even though they're building them to order) so Ed they cant leave the threading off, they cant not put the decals on and they cant not add the cable guides - I dont understand why... and I've just been reliabily informed this via the surliest email ever typed outside the confines of this forum! Fuck 'em.

the zero rake fork is going to ride like a stinky box. get it if you want to feel cool for a month and then end up being that guy on a dumb bike a year down the road.
furthermore, i have no idea why they would call it an "alleycat" if it has a zero rake fork and is meant for pinning around on.
ill-conceived bike.

Was going to suggest Gorilla, but they are £200 more, without postage. Nice looking bikes main lu (good) tig, not lugs and Columbus tube sets.
http://www.gorillabicycles.com/web/en/trackframesets/
BUT: Do they barspin?
I know they had a prototype with a curved down tube.
So, it is not English, it is more expensive, and it probably doesn't barspin. Fail.

barspin in not the interest - i do like zero rake fork cause of how it looks (shallow I know).
That Zengang's a bit sexy actually.. shame it's fair whack more (after delivery and import taxes that could end up costing double).
I'm still pissed at the email I got off BJ
@Ed from well up the page: You're spot on with your beater theory... my fuji track diy stealth bike is on paper my shittest bike but it runs beautifully and I dont have to worry about paint and dirt and all that nancy stuff. It's the bike i'd least like to lose though to be honest.

they have a specific line-up (OTP) to make production faster and easier, that how they were able to keep the price low and production quickly, as they don't cut the tube to your specification, they were already cut, all they have left is to put it together and paint it.

Aesthetically pleasing or unpleasing, i'm telling you that you will have a hard time **riding **this bike, and that it will feel like it's falling into the turns. Actually it won't feel like it, it will litterally tend to oversteer into the turns. if it's the straight bladed fork you like, then you can get one that still has the proper rake for a given head tube angle on that bike or any other.

This is very true - i do have a zero rake fork somewhere that I took of for that very reason.
@ Ed: I didnt realise they where 'pre assembled' like that - that makes a bit more sense now I suppose - doesn't explain the pain and decal issues though - or the arsiness - I'd expect it from youse lot but not from a company I'm trying to drop £400 with.

yeah that was rude, although it's just a question of stem really, there's adaptor to use threadless stem on threaded headset.

i like the frame, think it's quite nice, just think Bob Jackson making a trick frame is a bit like a dad trying to be cool. Also being marketed as a trick frame (sort of) but calling it 'alleycat'. Think it's sposed to be more of a 'fixie' frame as apposed to a track frame?
-
• #42
It looks like shit, I bet I would snap it in an hour, that thing should never go to market.
Kill it in the face. -
• #43
Could this thread be started again for sensible dessication only please?
I like the look of this frame and am thinking of getting one as my next project for the same reasons as roryeaglestone.
Has anyone ridden one of these in the steal (flesh)?
If so how does it feel ect...
I know someone said it might feel really boxy and you might overshot corners and stuff due to the fork, but I used to ride a bike with 0 raked fork and after a while i got used to it and started to like it.. so i would not mind that on this frame... -
• #44
The standard Vigorelli won't fall in piece when it's ridden 'hard', frankly it's not worth getting that if you want an everyday bike.
-
• #45
Yeah I was just looked that that, its a nice frame, I assume you have ridden both then edd, how does the ride?
-
• #46
No?
-
• #47
Get an Orlowski instead...
-
• #48
What is good about those compared to the BJ, you do them in BLB as well?
-
• #49
Get a BMX.
No wait, on second thoughts, don't.

Am I on the wrong thread?
Is this the one about an illicit road race for BJ riders only or not?
LOL'd at the above x2
