  • I've got a 27.0 with no clamp dome for saddle (Nuovo Record) if somebody's looking.
In case you swapped frame, you can swap dome over, it's FreeCycle.

  • Thanks for the offer but I had made a balls of measuring and its a 25.4 I need

Is anybody up for a run on Sunday?

  • Weather nice, yes if I can make it :)

  • Ok kids. Trip to the dirty duck tomorrow. Leaving the big fish at 13:00

All those is favor say yeooooo

  • maybeoooo

Depends on how catching up on my lack of sleep goes. Don't buy the work/kids/study thing people it's oversold :P

  • Make that a yes. Unless the boyfriend doesn't hear his 3 alarm clocks but planning to be there.

  • See y'all then

  • And another successful pub run done with great weather :)

We can also take the Greenway to Comber, then Castle Espie for 20ish mile roundtrip, and get a bun/tea there, or a bunrun/pubrun to Lisburn on the Towpath which is lovely this time of year for about 16 mile roundtrip.

  • Not used to nice weather. I could get used to it

    Either of those sound good

  • Hi folks, I am aiming to do Lap-the-Lough on my SS. Just wanted to check here to see if anybody else is doing the same? I could do with a training partner...

On the more relaxed side of things, I'd also be keen to get involved in your guys future pub-runs if there's room? I am new to the SS/Fixed side of things so it'd be good to get some inspiration/ideas!

  • Everybody welcome! :)

Are you commuting to work already? That's most of my cough training.

Comber Greenway is a good 12 mile run too, not for flat-out speed due to pedestrians but you can get your miles in.

  • Cheers! Off on holiday end of this week, so it'll be another fortnight or so before I can tag along.

Aye, Comber Greenway is decent - although prefer it for a hungover Sunday ride than anything too serious! I've been racking up most of my miles around South/North Belfast. Q

  • LTL is 130 KM, so I guess it all depends on how fast you want to do it :)

There's a guy doing it on a 3 speed Raleigh shopping bike! He was looking parts on Freegle (sorted now) as the local scum stole his previous shopper.

  • Yeah, is that the guy who has stuck some drop handlebars onto a shopper? Looks hilarious! I signed up for LTL back in March, thinking I'd tackle it on an old Raleigh 10-spd that I've spruced up. But quite like the challenge of SS, so training with that in mind.

  • Aye that's the one :)

Cycled 108 KM last year Antrim to Craigavon going westwards around Lough Neagh with Le Manfriend. After that, busy, shite weather...

...could do with long ride :S

    SS?

  • Sorry, typing on phone. SS (single speed)

  • Howdy. As J Said the more the merrier

Anyone going to the roller racing in whites on the 21st? Should be good fun

  • I have a contest to compete on the Sat in, so alas no... :S

  • Nightmare. Last time was good craic

  • Quite shocked to see there are so many fixed gear riders back in NI! Anyway, I am originally from NI and am going to be back for a week or so at the end of June. Will probably head down to Belfast, is there any good shops in the city where I can snoop about for parts/frames?

  • Not too sure, all the shops here focus on new items. Belfast Gumtree sometimes shows up nice frames/bikes but there's no second handle jumble shop atm I know of.

    Anybody? :)

  • As j said. Mostly new items with velo cafe magasin being the only shop stocking fixed gear parts. You could always try Lawrence street workshops for frames and the like but that can be hit and miss

  • http://www.ctc.org.uk/politically-painless-active-travel-registration may be of interest, me and Le Manfriend are going.

It's next wednesday in the evening.

  • Looks good. Don't know if I can make it though

  • Think I can get a frame sorted easily enough, any shop that stocks other parts (specifically wheels, stems, bars, etc.) would definitely do the job. Where abouts is this Velo Cafe Magasin?

Besides that, genuinely surprised that there is a fixed 'scene' in Belfast. Remember that even a couple of years ago before I move to England you didn't get many people cycling, nevermind cycling on fixed gear bikes!
