has anyone got experience of the dream machine? slightly worried it might have slacker angles to compensate for weight, which as I'd be planning it as a town bike would not be good for me. I was considering (at a stretch) a Mercian Vigorelli with braze ons and clearance for larger tyres and mudguards, but realised this might do about the same, at £300 less.
the details are here http://tokyofixedbikes.com/index.php?/projects/tokyo-dream-machine/
but with little knowledge, and not having owned a new frame that I could compare them to, the numbers don't mean much to me, can anyone with a little more experience (or ideally someone who owns one) help?

My thoughts on that frame: the slack angles are for 2 reasons:
1) Versatility with wheels and tyres, allowing fairly large tyres and with enough space for mudguards on smaller tyres should you want some for the winter.
2) The sloping top tube was to allow the frame to use cheaper construction techniques, which ishow they manage to get other higher quality components on a bike at that price point.
This is a cheaper equivalent of the Vigorelli, but to get that price point some very small compromises had to be made. When I saw it in the shop I was impressed with what it is, given the very low price for it.
Have I ridden it? No. So go ride one and find out.

bmx_fred: if you're in or near to London, it might be worth popping into their store and ask. Not to sound patronising or anything of course!
As far as I can tell, the guy who designs (read: chooses the materials/geometry) of tokyofixed's bikes is in the store most of the time. He's tall, with a gingery beard, and is incredibly helpful and nice.
In fact, all of the people in that shop are down to earth and pleasant. It's probably well worth voicing your questions to them directly.

I won this frame and fork in an alleycat last year but haven't managed to build it up yet-I know that isn't much use to you-apart from putting in the BB this very afternoon.Obviously can't tell you anything on how it rides yet but I can tell you it is a beautiful frame and I'm looking forward to getting it on the road.If you do purchase one keep me posted on the build,I am planning to stick front and rear racks on with a more leisurely gearing than my work bike.
Cheers.

It was the Spring/Summer 2012 drop. Good investment to sell on eBay. Otherwise extremely hipster, I couldn't go had a lecture at university.

We've had the first production prototypes of each of the new frames arrive in the UK this week. I'm so proud! These are the smallest size of 5 of the 7 new 2012 models we will be offering. For a little more info head to our blog: http://www.tokyofixedgear.com/blog.asp
