Hey Rudy,
Really sorry to hear what happened...I'm in shock!
Out of interest, where will you have your surgery as I am currently doing work experience in the vascular dep at St. Mary's.

Seriously Ramon, you make yourself look like a tool. Other people have different opinions to yours, and sometimes it's best to listen up or just be quiet.
For example if I was asking "what happened to you last week that was so uncomfortable" and you would come out with a story like "ohh, my butt plug!" and I pull a funny face, then it's the story that should have not been told. Get it?
Another self defence lesson is to say "whatever" and walk away instead of escalate and get someone or yourself hurt. How are U going to avoid trouble if you cannot even do that on internet threads?

The CICA rules have changed since I received my award.
However I think the OP does meet the minimum requirements for the minimum award of £1,000.
Can't find mention of an aneurysm (don't understand the terminology on the form) - but it should be worth $$$$/$$$$$*Note 12: Minor multiple physical injuries will qualify for compensation only where the applicant has sustained at least 3 separate physical injuries of the type illustrated below, at least one of which must still have had significant residual effects 6 weeks after the incident. The injuries must also have necessitated at least 2 visits to or by a medical practitioner within that 6-week period. Examples of qualifying injuries are: *
*a) grazing, cuts, lacerations (no permanent scarring) *
*(b) severe and widespread bruising*
*(c) severe soft tissue injury (no permanent disability) *
(d) black eye(s)
(e) bloody nose
(f ) hair pulled from scalp
*(g) loss of fingernail *
Rudie - can't fail.(Sorry)

Did you leave because discussions became a bit weird after a while? Maybe because you were too antagonistic?

Is it really...

Well, I'd say it prevented me from getting hurt! I walk away pretty fast, you know. It's called running ;)
Just stop taking it (life, the interweb, Krav Maga, ...) so seriously and it won't seem so silly.
Rudie, sorry for the thread derail.

Cheers Mate....how do i apply for that?
R_dy here is a message from my friend - the one who has been through the criminal injury compensation system.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
*Nightmare, poor bastard, they didn't nick nuffink? thats even worse in a way...
Ok, for compensation he MUST report it to the police (I assume he has already, but if he hasn't then he can do it now I think), he'll get a reference number and the name of the investigating copper which he needs for the compo form.
The form (and lots of other info) is at:
If he needs any help let me know, its quite straight-forward but long-winded...
There's some right cunts about innit?
*. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
EDIT - another email from him:
The other thing I should mention is that he should have gone to his GP/A&E when it happened so there are records of his injuries as the compobots will contact his doctor....

right on my manner!
I usually use fransiscan road or church lane, there's sometimes scrotes at the bottom of church lane from the estates, but not had hassle. The main road where you turned off, there's a crappy little pub on the corner, I bet it was some twat from there.
this is a pretty shit thing, hope you heal up good Rudy, and I hope the cunt that did it gets worse happen to him.

Oh. You live in Wimbledon with your parents .....
it doesn't take a well-travelled bloke to realise that random attack can happen anywhere.
-
• #98
Very sorry to hear about this, Rudy. You were doubly unlucky in that cyclists are normally a lot safer from attack than pedestrians. It's a shocking incident. I hope you at least got a decent description of this person. I can't imagine for a moment that he wouldn't be noticed in some other context and get his comeuppance soon. Good luck with the compensation work--hope that goes well--and that your injuries will heal without trace!

I offered the OP some constructive advice, don't cycle in dodgy areas pissed, learn how to defend yourself, ideally not with martial arts which do not work in real situations, if someone runs up behind you at night they probably mean to do you harm.
Unfortunately the herd mentality of some members of this forum seem to disagree with anything other than their own programmed thoughts.
So If it happens again what you gonna do? Sustain more injuries? Run to the nanny state for help and compensation?Or learn how to be self reliant and independent?

so sorry to hear about this, hope you are healing well.
sadly it is not uncommon - the year before last a guy i worked with was walking home from work late (about 11.30) on goswell road towards angel tube, and out of nowhere someone hit him round the face with a brick from behind. smashed his whole jaw, which had to be plated and wired up. they didn't take anything.
it's an extreme case of fucked up happy slapping and the police said there had been a few...
it's crazy.
He's fine, nothing too obvious.
