Regal's right. The gloves are £40. Someone in the first lot in this morning and just in front of me took every single large full fingered glove going, cnut.
JPA - it's the jersey that's £60.
Couldn't see any padded shorts or tights, or any jackets at all.
The Rapha people seem like a genuinely nice bunch.

I wasnt going to go but on my way to uni my class got canceled so i swing past at around 10. the queue was was horrific. I went round to the otherside to get a coffee from rough trade only to see lolabelle and stringerman inside.
Handed them some cash (lucking leo was guarding the door and looked away at that moment) and they came out with a lovely grey longsleeve jersey and some leg warmers. Just what i wanted!By 10:30 i was in lmnh sippin ma coffee wearing my new waffa

+1. Shout out to Leo.
A load of old toot really. A lot more damaged items, and seems a bit more expensive this year?
Not worth the queue imo, but that might have been because I already have most things... :-sAnd and another shout out to Lola... ahem.

Just met somebody on way back home from Regents Park and Swains; in Rapha he got today, you have to be fast to wear it.

I like that no one was really planning to go but everyone seem to be just passing by or having a day off and ending up buying rapha.

Knitted hats at £15!!!!!
This is a long shot, but if anyone can pick me up a red knitted hat, and can post it, i'll sort you out. £22 for your troubles?
Hey there, I've just tried on my red knitted cap in the office and been heckled by the 3 girls I work with. I was modelling it in reply to a request to show them if I'd bought "any more of those silly bike hats". I think my massive cranium doesn't best show off headwear. If you still want one after that sales pitch, I can send it off on Monday for £15. Let me know, otherwise it's going back tomorrow or Sunday.

I got there just before 9:30 and got in at about 12:30. FML.
Got a couple jerseys and bits, definitely agree with Wicksie that it wasn't really worth the queue, but after an hour it seemed stupid to walk away.
Also agree on the staff being good. Someone near me had turned up with a road bike and no locks they wouldn't let him take it in but one of the staff lent him a lock which I thought was pretty epic.

i went to a rapha sample sale back in 2007 i think it was at velorution, hardly any publicity..
picked up arm warmers, winter bib tights, gilet for peanuts, nothing like the queues described today..
the rapha guys are all very decent and props to leo on the door, hope you all got what you wanted, not too disappoint.. i avoided it completely, already sorted of 2012 ;)

I was at that one too, that was back when Jacqui was working in Velorution I think?

I stood and queued with my boss this morning. Got in around 11.30 and was a bit dissappointed in the end. Really wanted some base layers, but looks like someone decided to buy the lot. Got 2x SS jerseys and one long sleeve plus some arm warmers for one fiddy all in.
Pain in the arse being of average build when it comes to sample sales. Might drop by again sunday afternoon to see if there are some mega discounts but not expecting anything much.

^Got my softshell back in 2007 at that sale. Still just about going...

Did this happen?
I heard someone say they saw someone pick up boxes and go straight to the til.

I went late Sunday also on the summer one and there were some more stock and then big discounts on bulk stuff that was left over.
Probably worth going in about 3pm ish Sunday. -

Cheers Wicksie.
I'd heard the rumour that last year someone bought the bulk of the baselayers. When I got in today there were some empty boxes by the till saying £10 each or 3 for £20. Guessing these used to be the home of the baselayers.
Personally, judging by the size of the queue today, I think Rapha should be limiting how much of each item one person is allowed to buy (possibly a maximum of 10 to 12 baselayers for example). This way someone can buy a bulk discount and others in the queue are in with a chance of grabbing something they need.

my winter bib tights still going five years on.. i paid £40 for them :), the old style gilet £10 with shoulder zips and velcro collar needs replacing prob next year, the arm warmers never stayed up too baggy at the top, but for £5 i wasn't complaining -
• #7399
i only bought 2 jerseys as nothing else was in my size that i liked.to be honest i thought the majority of stuff there was rubbish.
