  • £80 for a jersey is too much.

    FACT.

  • depends what you like ^

£70 for a nylon cycling jersey is far too much, not FACT just my opinion

  • £80 for a jersey is too much.

    FACT.

    Its nice though.

    Exactly.

Also its long sleeved, which puts it into the 50 - 80 note category whatever its made from.

  • I got one of these merinos for christmas, and find it quite nice. This + baselayer + windbreaker = perfect for January in London. It's £80 nice, but not £120 nice. Hatbeard is right they are cut large (for rapha).

  • Typing the word FACT after you've expressed an opinion does not make it true unless you're actually comment on your earning/spending potential.

  • If I buy a merino base layer bundle I will miss my EDF Energy payment. FACT.

  • I own no Rapha. ACTUAL-FACTUAL.

  • 80 is only 2/3 of 120.

£80 is also the average cost for LS merino/sportwool offerings from Solo, Shutt VR, and Vintage Velo.

    These are facts my friends.

  • josh

80 quid for a decent quality merino jumper is not bad, look at what icebreaker charge.

    nice but reasonable

I don't actually, I hadn't even read what was being said; I just had an overwhelming desire to say the words...

    NICE but PRICEY

I think it's what Rapha would want me to think. My version would run more like...

    EXCLUSIVE but UNAPPEALING

  • Merino base layers 25% off until 14/2. FACT.
    This is hysterical.

  • NICE but PRICEY.

This stuff is much nicer, and not as pricey:

Actually more exlcusive as its its only really advertised to the members of londons famous fixie skidder forum!

    Petard hoisting?

    Petard hoisting?

No, as I didn't claim that it was any less exclusive. But, James, you clearly never miss a chance to defend Rapha. :)

  • oliver, directed at superanal, not you

    you can stop schickstirring!

  • Schick-stirring! Awesome.

  • A cotton t-shirt is wank for cycling in. Hardly a worthwhile comparison, but thanks anyway ;-)

    Its wicking properties are shite.

  • Once it's full of sweat, think of it as a weighted training aid.

  • does not insulate when wet, whereas merino does

    cotton is shit for cycling

  • but at least it's vegan.

Serious question james, do you own any shares in a livestock holding company or rapha?

    (not trolling)

  • nope

Just like the product - before cycling i used to wear a lot of icebreaker stuff. Have never got on with synthetic fabrics too well, a few skin problems are exacerbated by synthetics or wet cotton. Normal wool against my skin prickles a lot too.

You may notice I also contribute to the merino thread too. I am vocal about the things I like.

  • M&S make the best piece of clothing ever conceived by man out of pure fine merino (not pants).

  • Vocal is an understatement. I reckon when Max Clifford retires you've got an opportunity ahead of you in PR.
