It would be a herculean effort for one troll to push this along for 80+ pages...I reckon this thread simply regurgitates its contents every 4 pages or so. Same game, different players...
Hey man, I've been in fuelling this baby for the long term. Don't cheapen my efforts. :)

I don't know if this has been posted before as I'm not really a Rapha man, so tend to avoid this thread, but maybe one of the Rapha fans can explain to me why this bag is worth £225?
Well, it probably isn't worth that, but isn't the answer to a slightly different question just: 'Because they can'?

Things are only worth what people are willing to pay to them. And value is relative.
Deep shit there. -

Where's the bit about the lifetime guarantee for their clobber on the site? I couldn't find it amongst all the stuff about pain and rice and beans (http://www.rapha.cc/rapha-cooks-rice-and-beans)

Anyone know if the Rapha pants are worth £100 for three pairs.
Initial thoughts are that as they are Merino they could be worn for a few days longer than my M&S pants before they need washing so saving on laundry bills. -

Three pairs of boxer shorts for a hundred quid. Hmm, yeah, probably worth it.
-
• #4189
i agree.
when i spend a lot of money in a high end restuarant i want to know that the expensive skid marks generated by 30 quid quails eggs on purple sprouting brocolli and 90 quid kobi beef steaks are being deposited into the garments of the finest quality as they deserve.fixieskidder.

1 Week without having an argument on this thread, this must be a new record.

DJs banned at the moment. It's all quiet on the Rapha front.

I bought the team rain jacket the other day. It is extremely nice and not as pricey as usual as it has £40 off of the normal price.
Would buy again.

There's some merino base layers on sale as well, £40, reduced from £65. Bargain!

Makes all the difference, sadly enough.

Simon Mottram: I wanted to target 30- to 50-year-old men who were time-poor,affluent, brand conscious and keen on the sport
The best part for me is this:
We set out to sell a romantic view of the sport

I liked this bit:
Simon Mottram
- Works: Managing director of Rapha Racing, the business he founded in 2004. The company's name is derived from the St Raphael cycling team of the 1960s, which included stars such as Jacques Anquetil and Britain's Tom Simpson. Its feeder team – the reserve squad, if you like – was called Rapha.

Mintel reckons Britons will spend £700m on bikes alone this year – and half as much again on associated products, from lights to clothing.
holy fuck!
edit: that can't be right. I plan on spending fuck all next year. apart from club kit.

Lol, Rapha is bare jokes. I fucking hate all this fucking branding horseshit. For me it's the least appealing brand in all of cycling.

Well you've proved one thing... better to be producing the things that people replace like kit and consumables than the bikes themselves.
Follow Partridge's lead and get driving gloves..."The stringback gives it that little bit of extra purchase"
