Never had you down as a [strike]terrorist[/strike] saffa ;)
I once lived in (South) Africa, therefore UK banks think I am a terrorist and will not give me a credit card. I also live in Stockwell (well known terrorist target range).
That guy who came on here and posted millions of pictures of foci (?) was obviously ahead of the trend curve.
Rapha Focus... WTF??
The Focus Izalco Chrono SRAM 2010 list price is £4999. How much is a Serotta?!
Oh, I see what you mean. Yeah, I didn't think Focus was a very Rapha sort of bike brand either. Nice (I have a Cayo) but definitely not pricey enough when their photo models all ride Serottas and IFs and stuff.

I was somewhat disappointed last night to discover that my Rapha edition bike has no concealed paragraph exhorting me to be more serious and epic in my riding. Surely the most appropriate placement has been missed here :(

Plenty more. Check out Cyclefit's website

So the MeiVici AE is £6299, that's frame, forks and fit only right?

What did I say? Women's softshell jacket went on sale Friday. Mrs. Brave orders it on Saturday along with a long sleeve jersey..
-
• #3782
I do rather like the longsleeve jerseys. Tempted...
-
• #3783
I'd happily spend £50 on really nice brolly. Unlucky Rapha.

The Izalco Chrono is really a Walser - altogether more serious. The most popular Focus is the Cayo, which is great value at the £800-£1500 end of the market. Definitely not pricey enough for the average Raphaelite. ;)
Carbon Serottas start at about three grand for the frame only - some of their frames are £6000+...

Serottas are beautiful in a functional way. There is little purposeless flash to them.

Anyone know when Rapha are likely to restock their Wind Jacket....? I have been hanging on for one for ages. I want to spend some vouchers!
-
• #3787
Rapha might know... just a thought
;-)

Nice but pricey, you might say.

Ha ha Soul.
A fair point though. I just let my fingers override my brain, and just started typing...... -

I was chatting to a few Italians this week, and they'd never heard of Rapha. Don't bother taking your Rapha kit out to Tuscany to show off if you're riding there - it's lost on them...
-
• #3791
i'm riding in Tuscany next summer, what clothing do you recommend?
navy blue pegoretti with white pinstripes/black shiny sidi's/black santini or assos shorts.
it's the jersey and cap i need help with.
black or white socks with the shoes? -

I would feel that Rapha would be the thing to wear as it's not known and thereby a little more exclusive. Italian cyclist are well known for the sartorial elegance (don't post fat bloke in Lampre kit).
-

Speaking of brolly, can anyone direct me to a decent one? the one ranging between a fiver to £20 never seemed to last that long and not exactly robust.
Still the Rapha is cheaper than the overpriced Paul Smith one which fell apart easily (missus used to have one).
If you need something robust....

- Self-defense Unbreakable Umbrella from Real-Self-Defense.com[/ame]It's nice in a utilitarian kinda way, but possibly a bit pricey. Altho it does come with a lifetime guarentee.

You may have got away without Campy.. But hairy legs.. You'd be a laughing stock

Strangely italians do not seem to have the concerns about putting shimano on Italian frames, this seems to be a British phenomenon, particularly perpetuated by the fixie-skidder "vintage roadie" pub visitor.
-
• #3798

i wanted to create my own style.
-
• #3799
what's the status quo hate for black shoes/socks in road cycling all about? too practical? doesn't brightly reflect the sun enough to mess with wheel suckers?
-
• #3800
cycling is one of the few areas where black shoes and white socks are sort of acceptable
