  • Better to apply now before you move, credit card companies don't generally like people who've just moved. Do the application now and get post forwarded if necessary, safer bet.

+1. Keeps happening online. I fucking hate HSBC. Once I've moved it's el fucko to them.

    ffuuu

  • Made me laugh this - its in the inside pocket

  • rapha customers are all homeowners and lawyers, bankers or other professionals. As well as badgers.

  • Rapha umbrella! for real.

  • ^^^ What product Eightball?

  • the brolly is fucking awesome, matches the cross kit

cant wait, the perfect gift for a cycling widow when she comes out to grumble and watch you falling off your bike.

its going to be dancing jane's joke cycling related gift for xmas

(if she has not fired me for falling foul of n-1 or too much cycling)

I once lived in (South) Africa, therefore UK banks think I am a terrorist and will not give me a credit card. I also live in Stockwell (well known terrorist target range).

HSBC have been fine for me mate, I even got £60 cashback for joining them. I've now got my ICER and the account which I pay bills with them.

Haven't bothered with a Credit card, will try and keep away from that.

  • Rapha Focus... WTF??

    Rapha-Focus Cyclocross Team.

  • I would have thought that the Merino jersey is essential for charging through mud and dirt, especially with the pink trimming

Eightball isnt any of these things happily, but he is a merchant banker.

I know.. Just doesn't really have the quality ring to it like Rapha Condor... er Sharp..

  • Oh, I see what you mean. Yeah, I didn't think Focus was a very Rapha sort of bike brand either. Nice (I have a Cayo) but definitely not pricey enough when their photo models all ride Serottas and IFs and stuff.

    The Fixed jacket

Oi, I am a professional.....I take my doing as little as possible very seriously

  • Rapha umbrella! for real.

    £50. For a fucking brolly.

  • Speaking of brolly, can anyone direct me to a decent one? the one ranging between a fiver to £20 never seemed to last that long and not exactly robust.

Still the Rapha is cheaper than the overpriced Paul Smith one which fell apart easily (missus used to have one).

False economy. Get along to James Smith's and acquire a gentleman's gamp. Your grandchildren will thank you for it.

  • or ask your grandfather if he has a good one going spare?

Aaah, alas not. He was equipped with a full waterproof head, achieved by the passage of 60+ years of the application of hair-oil, Brylcreme, sump-oil and unctions of similar ilk.

  • Unctions. A criminally underused word these days.

Rapha Unctions. The best a man can get

A vigorous application of unctions could leave a man's pate shining as if kissed by spume.

  • ed there is an umbrella shop on tottenham court road, this one
    http://www.james-smith.co.uk/
got my umbrella from them, wasn't very expensive, maybe 25 squid, but well made and not going to break anytime soon. black curved wooden handle. Salesman was cool as well, not needing to sell me their most expensive model.

edit. sorry bigtwin, didn't see your post upthread, heed the man ed, he doth speak the truth..
