As Tiswas inferred Rapha kit works when rain sighs "oh what the fuck? this cunt has probably waxed their entire cycling kit collection. fucks."
Osmotic Pressure doesn't do shit in terms of keeping dry but is measurably at its peak when the individual is smiling.

Rain jacket just arrived (& in time for the forecast deluge this afternoon), it looks v nice.... but reassuringly expensive
ps i did wonder whether the interior lining provides a tailored oxygen permeation property? But how did one's tailor achieve this?

I think you mean 'implied', although even that's wrong, because he stated it fairly unequivocally. You dumb fuck.

How was it? Only had a windbreaker on this evening so got fairly wet. Inevitably spent most of the commute wishing I had the pricey Rain Jacket goodness. So dry... so... nice.

Strewth what a lovely bit of kit!
It pissed down and I was bone dry. I found breathability better than the stowaway and the lining of the rain jacket makes it feel very comfy. I had a slightly guilty pleasure feeling riding in the rain, quite enjoying it!

i had planned a ride today so did not have a bag, was in roadie kit with the throwaway jacket, it was perfect for the deluge and kept my top half dry
think the rain jacket may be procured for fixie skidding and commuting with a bag on
the irony of the communist above wearing rapha is lost on me

Well.... to explain Commie is more of a reference to an old nickname, The Russian, as in Snatch, the G Ritchie flic, as opposed to any political preference!
Also, thanks DJ for your other recommendation, the Mission rucksack had it's first proper wet weather test and as you would expect even the papers I had in there, were bone dry. Not even any condensation on my phone. Whereas the Rapha backpack is a very nice design, but everything gets wet in a downpour.

the mission workshop shoes are pretty ace too
and they look better once worn in and battered and covered in mud

I take it the Rain Jacket is better than the Softshell in the worst of the rain .....ho hum looks like i'll be forking out another £190 on more pricey items.
Whats the material like on the outside ? I only ask as twice in my softshell, gatorskin has met drain cover in the wet and i have ended up on my arse. I have taken a dig out of the left elbow of my softshell but not gone right through.....looks to be made up of multiple layers ? As i would be using the rain jacket in the wet the likelihood of me falling is greatly increased.
Last question....Mission rucksack ? is this a Berghaus item ?

Mission workshop bags
A new company
Rapha offer crash repair if possible
Nothing is likely to be spaz/crash proof
Always make sure someone else is liable for your accidents as they then pay for it

Also
Rapha - clearly not pricey enough as too many fools here own their stuff
I was under the misapprehension I was buying into some exclusivity.
Time to use the stuff as firelighters for the drawing room when reclining on the chaise lounge.

Ta, will have a look at them. Not much fun when your socks and pants are wetter than your towel at the start of the day.

That's why you've come full circle to Tweed.

Been there, done that. The lightweight softshell goes up like a hydrogen balloon.

and I can only hope you can be banned. i've got three books that I haven't delved into yet sitting in front of me.
Physical Chemistry, Biophysics, and Physics for Biochemistry.
I was saving them for next week, but you've tempted me into reading them...
