  • Yeah I don't know how you'd find that deal via the site, but it comes up if you Google "rapha jeans"
Was quite astonished to find that the 'slim fit' version of the current jeans actually fitted, but monies.

  • I found them by accident. Was watching this auction and googled them to check the price. £50 in stock and in my size on the Rapha site, the auction ended at £80.

  • that 1)your being 2)conned by 3)super high prices with 4)super low paid 5)Chinese labour and 6)Quality?

    1) you make this too easy.
    2) implies a knowing deception, or misdirection by lying, which is clearly not the case - it's a Customer Service issue that's being dealt with directly.
    3) 'super high price' within context of bib shorts, I think we can all agree, are Assos Campionissimo S7. On their site at £360, so over twice the cost. 'below median average price' would be more correct.
    4) you've worked this one out for yourself, appreciated
    5) again within the context of bib shorts, the Lightweights are made in Portugal.
    6) it's not 100% clear, but as it follows on from 'super low paid Chinese labour' I deduce you are connecting China with low 'quality' production? First, the quality issue in the picture is the gripper elastane (out of Europe) not the make. Second, make out of anywhere can be fantastic or terrible; assuming that anything out of China has low quality is a bizarrely outdated view to hold in the 21st Century. Where did you get your keyboard from? Seems to be working ok. And your screen? And... oh dear....

Considerations for production location often come down to where the fabric is sourced from (European fabrics are usually made up in Europe, and Far East in the Far East), coupled with the skill capabilities of the factory. Not always the case, but you'd be unhinged if you sent a technical Japanese 3-ply fabric around the world to a factory with limited capabilities to try to make seam-sealed outerwear.

Feel free to respond to any/all of these points, but I'm not going to go any further. Thanks for reading.

  • ^ Rapha, expensive but comprehensive.

  • And surprisingly polite to someone who has showed no signs of deserving it.

  • Rapha wallet, not the transfer one. Any good for £90? I need a new wallet to replace aging little Paul Smith one with footballs on.

  • Had forgotten about those, will investigate. Thank you.

  • I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the reversible wind jacket. Any codes knocking about? :-)

  • MP-tW@ll3t

  • Lusso are cheaper than rapha and are made in UK.

Are they actually not awful? That your ass survived isn't a glowing endorsement :) I wonder how they can hit that price point whilst manufacturing a quality product here and putting dinner on the table.

  • Yeah they're not awful. Their repel corsa jersey and arm warmers are great, kept me warm and dry throughout most of this winter. The windtex winter stuff is warm, breathable etc. Those bibs weren't a great example but they're fine, their pricier stuff is even better. Better made than a bunch of other brands I've tried. Disclaimer: I don't have any rapha :)

  • It looks like their photography budget is vastly lower than Rapha's.

  • Disclaimer: I don't have any rapha

You should try some, it's nice...

    but a bit pricy

  • @andyp is usually the guy with codes, PM him.

  • They also had a PTJ before Rapha did. I think I sold mine to @soul many years ago

  • I have the rapha cross kit from 2011 think. The one with the ice cream colours. New unworn whats its value if to sell?

  • No, you're right. I'm sure you picked up something when I was working in Covent Garden though, maybe some mudguards?

  • Can't honestly remember. Not lusso stuff though.

  • Probably what you paid for it, maybe a bit more if you can get two or three people bidding on it on ebay.

  • 2011? I'm still riding mine - it's reasonably hardy at least.

  • Yes. I believe we met on this
