  • Tracked down a Stage 2 ToC cap.

Is nice. More pricey than I would have liked but lovely designering and weirdly isn't as tight as my Stage 4 one.

Defies belief that Rapha can churn out duotone clown inspired clobber just weeks after.

  • You have severe Rapha bipolar issues.

  • It's the dichotomy of the supposed 'niceness' versus the undulating 'priceyness' that fries my brain.

That said, I think there's at least one designer at Rapha that's hiding some kind of severe visual impairment...

  • Whuzzup gurl?

  • My repair has gone missing in the post... today was the day after 4 weeks so thought i'd give a call. DHL say they delivered it back to me on the 10th, definitely didn't... ergh.
Anyone have this happen before with a Rapha repair?
No blame on them, its DHL fault, just wondering what the protocol is as I can't afford a replacement at the mo

  • My current fav gram account

  • ffs euro prices still where they were last week :/

  • Where are you based?

  • London (Shoreditch)
I spoke with Customer Services again today and they've credited me to get a new pair which is on it's way to me already. Good customer service I must say, very quick and efficient!

  • how frequently do rapha check currency rates?

  • Weekly I'd imagine.

  • They don't sell oil

  • Most retailers (online or not) will only check rates daily or weekly depending on their payments provider.

Bear in mind that regardless of the advertised rate, the rate that is applied is the one that is billed... usually in the currency that is local to the billing system in use.

I'd go out on a whim and guess that if you set the currency to GBP and paid in that, it would be billed in that, and your local bank would apply the most recent rate and you'd get your discount.

  • Is the short sleeve training jersey what was basically the old pro team jersey?

  • asked on their fb are the euro prices gonna go down now that sterling is in a steady decline – no answer 🌚

    nice – but even pricier

  • I've just been to Tesco and asked the same question especially about stuff grown in Europe.

They just looked at me like I was a Twat...

  • It be more logical for euro prices to go up as it's all made on the continent.

It be even more logical to have stock closer to production facilities, logistic hubs or larger retail locations instead of shipping it to UK and to customers in between. Unless there are extra QA inspections in the UK itself before shipping everything out. But that only applies to goods that would be shipped within the EU, can imagine this already applies to Americas, Asia Pacific/Middle Eastern online sales destinations.

  • This.
I was trying to find the best way to word it as well...

  • Not just Rapha but I if Brexit goes ahead it will sideline a lot of UK distribution in favour of the continent.

  • Ofcourse, but as this is the Rapha thread it seems more "on topic". :)

I suspect the continent hub being based somewhere in the Benelux tho. Amsterdam retail store would seem like a good base of operations. But it's small and not centrally located in a logistic point of view. (Not that stock should be kept in the same place as a retail store.) Antwerp (or Ghent) has more interesting opportunities, broader market offset and Belgium has overall better logistical environment.

  • That's impossible to say unless you know where the product costs, where it comes from and goes to in a very detailed way.

  • You're just making stuff up now.

  • True but it's not hard to imagine that companies would prefer unimpeded access to 450m customers with [potentially] more barriers to 60m than vice versa.

  • Once we lose the free movement of goods and capital it'd make sense to fulfill European orders from an EU country I would think, UK orders from the UK and US from the US. How that works in terms of the global supply chain and overall logistics operation is of course an interesting question
