  • Having extensively ridden in a PTRC I can kind of see the reasoning behind chopping the arms. That's on the proviso it was obtained well below RRP (they were about £75-80ish I think over easter weekend at the archive store).

I was out last week in the pissing rain doing intervals in mine and my body was fine with the zip 1/4 down but my arms were fucking boiling.

I know, Gabba etc, but there's something nice about a proper waterproof when it's lashing it down from start to finish on your ride. It's not just about being warm in wet weather, it's also about not feeling like you stacked it into a river after 5 minutes.

That said, I'm not going to chop the arms off mine, too useful in the colder months for that.

  • Spot-on. I bought a new PTRC but just couldn't bring myself to cut the sleeves... however I got one with the sleeves cut at the tape (Elbow) on EBay. The cut sleeve one is perfect on warm but wet days / races. Keeps body properly dry & breezy. Folds up & goes in the back pocket where a gabba won't when the sun comes out again.

  • But then your forearms get wet?
    I'm no pro.

  • Ah that's good! Ha

  • Nano flex arm warmers...... & you can pocket these too if it gets tropical :)

  • Or just ride with wet arms. Easier to ignore than a sopping torso

  • @danstuff I have both (and a Rain Jacket for that matter), one doesn't replace the other(s).

  • I thought the PT Rain Gilet was just a Race Cape without sleeves? I've got a Race Cape, but not the Rain Gilet yet. Tempted though...

  • it is always better to have the full catalogue

nice, but a bit pricy of course

  • Now that I have uber warm arm warmers. I'm inclined to get a more hardcore gilet to pair them With.

Is the rain gilet stretchy at all?

  • On the MERINO BASE LAYER - SHORT SLEEVED

Are they really a bit big and you need to downsize?.
I fancy the grey white stripey number.

  • ^yes they are very generous especially for something that needs to be toight loike a toiger

  • So this looks interesting. Rapha x Geoff McFetridge collaboration.

"This Thursday Night Rapha Cycle Club in Los Angeles / Venice ...I did a painting for the shop and we made some products 6pm ...come say hi and let's talk about tires and ceramic bearings"

Always liked Geoff's work so keen to see what materialises

  • Thought it then saw your post perfectly deployed underneath.

    +1

  • Grim

  • First luring golfers, now the pony club crowd.

    The caps OK in isolation.

  • jesus, who's designing this shit?

  • Not Jesus. He's busy being the Saviour/Son of God and also campaigning for Brexit.

  • This jersey a day before the vote? Is surely a stealth Mottram political message.

Rapha 'Referendum' jersey. Representing the epic suffering of both 'Remain' and 'Leave' campaigns.

  • I keep looking at it and having flashbacks to sitting in an optician's chair.
