  • Prefer the look of the gabba tbh

  • The pictures are so bloody dark I can't even see it

  • All Goth cyclists please come forward and collect your new uniform.

  • Black nailpolish to compliment your leather musette optional.

  • Gah still no new arm/knee warmers in the new shadow fabric :(

  • even the most expensive rainwear options are made from a plastic-feeling laminate material and are taped at the seams, resulting in a clammy jacket in which it is easy to overheat

Except the Gabba, which costs £90 in SS. lol.

  • What's this shadow thing for?

Fucked if I'd wear that on an actual Road. With actual traffic about.

    Leaky velodrome?

  • It's for racers, y'know. Racers who race on closed courses, where there is no traffic.

Racers who spend £220 on a jersey. But aren't sponsored.

  • Since when has Regent's Park been 'closed roads'?

  • Sportful no-rain warmers will cost you about £50 for a full set if you shop around?

  • Regents Park: for those who are short on time and know how to buy things on the Internet #confessions

  • £480... for just bibs and short sleeve jersey... I'm happy to splash out a little but that does seem a little excessive even by rapha standards

  • Aren't sponsored or members of a club.

  • Welcome to Rapha. Choose your tribe:

    • Fluoro
    • FKW
    • Ninja invisible [Yakuza spec now available]
    • Coral [EXPERT]

Have you even read the thread title?

The Shadow will be even nicey-er

  • Many years ago there lived an emperor who was so very fond of beautiful, new cycling kit that he spent all his money on his whim to be well dressed.

He was not interested in his soldiers, nor in going to theatre, nor in riding in the Royal parks, unless it was to show off his new clothes.

He had an outfit for every hour of the day, and just like the old saying, “The king is in his council chambers,” it was said about the emperor,
“He is in the Rapha Cycle Club.”

  • @fox like hobbyists that use Park Tool pro workshop tools?

  • ere we go ere we go ere we go

This photo looks like the chap is wearing his boxers (presuming its the waist band of the jersey though....)

  • My Park tool collection cost significantly less than a Shadow outfit! And it's for life. Won't wear out or become unfashionable. Actually saves me money in the long run on bike shop bills. I can lend them to friends, which is considered bad form for bib shorts. Etc. etc. ;)

The Emporer's New Clothes jibe had to be made given they are partly selling this stuff on its invisibility! For the record I think a lot of the recent Rapha stuff is nice (reflective stealth jerseys, Canyon/SRAM kit, Mondial). Not a hater.

  • Me not hobbyist. Good tools these.

  • Fox in getting on his high horse shocker....
How's that bathtub/swimming pool coming on?

  • I've got a park tools stand... cost me less than a base layer?

  • Zing!
Where's the rep when it's required?

  • Predicts a short joke.
