I think this forum has done enough to convince everyone to steer clear? ;o)

Increasing supply would mean a perceived decrease in exclusivity / prestige, and would not lead to an increase in sales (static revenue, increased cost, less profit).
i don't think so... it's not as though it is perceived to be 'hard to come by' or in short supply, is it? they'd just be able to sell more.
anyway, if they under order so much, how come they have clearance lines and sales with boxes of unsold gear in them?

people should buy those frames if it makes them happy.
i have shit loads of rapha and i'm overjoyed.
it's nice but a bit pricy.
but so worth it. -

the stowaway is the best piece of cycling clothing ever designed, you were right.
-
• #2381
That would imply a high second-hand value for Rapha, possibly even higher than the retail price. Which, in all honesty, is already quite pricey.

they're spot on about that, especially when Nike is known for their sweatshop that's still going on, making shoes that cost less than a tenner and sell it for £150 making a massive profit.
what other reason is there for them being so big? capitalism at it's finest.
they make better trainers than gola.
that's why they're so big.

I was talking to a bloke who work at Rapha and he said the price are usually high because not just the exclusivity, but to prevent stock from selling out too quickly, he also mentioned that Rapha has been quite big worldwide and are quite hard to keep up with the demand.
What he told you is bollocks. Probably just trying to justify the mark-up.
No retailer in the history of ever has priced stock up in order to stop it selling out. Ever.

Nike are massive. I can never get them in my size.

but so worth it.stowaway & softshell - yes
Overshoes less so - they are already looking very knarly after a month or so of almost everyday use, some stitch work is coming apart & the neoprene is too thin & soft/cuts easily -

The jersey gets stinky quicker than my old wool jerseys. But I look like a freaking ninja in it, so it's ok.

Don't be ridiculous, sweat stained Rapha does not stink, neither does the Queen fart or belch.

I just wish Rapha would answer my email, I emailed them five days ago. I'd expect better service with their prices.

i bet if you stand at the counter with a fistful of £50 notes they wouldn't take 5 days to grab the money out of your hand

At Condor. Bring tazer.
I'm going to be away for this, but there's £10 per item in it if someone can pick me up a jersey or 2, and a stowaway if they have any. PM me. Thanks.
P.S. Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, I didn't bother to look.

I like Rapha, their stuff is pretty nice. Pricey mind, but nice.

I wouldn't say it's pricey. Seems very reasonable, for clothes made by pixies from magical threads of pure kryptonite. Otherwise it would be a ripoff.

I had an interesting chat a few weeks back with a helpful Condor employee. We discussed Rapha's prices and niceness, and he was of the opinion that the only item that justified the price was the stowaway. He was also adamant that Rapha would not be having a sample sale this year though.

was ed there as well?
It is a shame, since it mean more people will have those modern Cinelli and less vintage around for you to eat.
