All this visibility chat is kind of secondary to the fact that I wouldn't be caught dead in a neon gilet, so form > function for me, basically. I'm just going to buy more offensively bright lights.

I have that brevet gilet. Not for sale I'm afraid. It's much nicer than the specific hi-vis gilet.

I picked up a Sportful Hotpack hi-vis gilet last year for winter training and it's brilliant. My winter kit (gabba/tights etc) is all black, so this just goes over the top. It packs up to less than half the size of a fist and adds some extra wind and rain protection when required.

I'm currently wearing my fluoro gilet over a black gabba.
Bit bulky really. But I'm a bit bulky anyway. So I'm not a big fan of layering.

But I guess it works well enough. Takes bloody ages to get everything on.

I want a thermal onsie.

But I'm guessing I'm too short.

... Or for homemade peanut butter flapjacks. I make triple batches of these regularly. Chop them up and pack them in that foil with greased paper on one side. Then Keep them frozen to avoid temptation. They defrost after 10 mins in a jersey pocket.

£55 for a fucking hi-viz gilet!

I make peanut butter, oat and banana bars n'all - very similar to your recipe, but i use mashed overripe baanan and honey as the binding agent rather than melted butter.

I too have to freeze them as otherwise I just eat them all day. Not too sweet so they feel totally justifiable at breakfast, but sweet enough to eat as a 'desert' type thing.

The clif bar reference was a crap in joke (calls taxi)

I paid £40 and worth every penny. Great fit, no flapping material, packs to nothing etc. I'd rather pay a bit more for quality kit.

Anyway, the Rapha brevet is £80! I got this cause it's cheap in comparison.

I made an old hi-viz vest into a musette, short job on sewing machine. Functional and nicer to wear than a vest or gilet over black softshell, not pricey either.

Given the 25% off deal on base layers, is the softshell baselayer worth it if you've got a gabba? Even £60 seems a lot to pay for it.

And how is the merino mesh BL different to the standard merino BL?

I've got one, and Gabbae. I think bother together would be overkill for anything but the worst conditions, but it's nice to have the option.

Is Gabbae the Womens cut?
