  • Oh right, sounded a lot worse when Cheleon stated it. Still wouldnt hurt to make my feelings known.

  • Ironically, I think the Classic bib short is £10 less than last year.

  • Seriously? you know you're not forced to buy from them, right?

Hardshell leap from £240 to £260, it's hardly a massive jump as Cheleon implied.

Sorry, I might have sounded a bit too bitter. What I meant really was that the price has crossed my personal rubicon for value. Don't get me wrong, I love the Rapha gear and if it's something that gets used everyday than fair enough.

  • Seriously? you know you're not forced to buy from them, right?

True, but it's hard not to look a dick in most other brands with their garish designs.

  • And we don't when wearing Rapha?

  • HaHa, point.

  • Funnily enough, the missus just caught sight of that pic on the computer and said 'Whose that dick?'

  • poor bear

  • She's just hiding her true feelings

  • Seems ridiculous that they have put prices up on existing products. Why would the pro team bibs be worth £20 more than they were two days ago?

  • Because they just released a new spring like a couple days ago?

    It is 2014 after all.

  • There's probably a voucher code doing the rounds.

  • Because they just released a new spring like a couple days ago?

    It is 2014 after all.

    Do you work for Rapha?

  • Yes, you got me, I have the necessary knowledge, ability and experience to work there.

  • classic bib shorts were 140£ last year no?

now closer to the price of the PT bibs at 160£

  • then don't buy them, it's not like they have a duty to be affordable

  • On the bright side, it makes it easier to hit the minimum spend for membership of the Imperial Works programme.

  • Would

Buy the new Assos S7 (T_equipe - ie non ridiculous "kuku penthouse") bibs instead then: http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-track-bike/xmas-clothing-offer-assos-t-equipe-s7-bib-shorts/assozbbs380

Supposed to be significantly better than the S5 (which I personally rate above Rapha's classic bibs)

  • The Assos could be the most fantastic bibs in history, but my experiences of riding with 6pt have put me off.

They become very shear at the rear.

  • Even in black?

I can't say I have ever had anyone complain about that when I have been wearing mine...

The S7 apparently use a more compressive fabric - so may be less (or possibly more) prone to this.

  • I consider myself a die-hard Rapha customer, but the Merino Boxers are now ¥7500 where they were ¥4500 last time I bought a pair, some months ago.

Classic Bibs are ¥28,500 - I seem to remember paying ¥21,000 about a year ago.

    Frankly, they can get fucked.

Compressive fabrics are often worse. The 2XU tights are terrible for this.

I have to say though. I was in the market for some standard pro-team bibs to compliment my thermal pro-teams. Now its seems a silly purchase when the S7 are now cheaper.
