Big difference, Pro Team is a race fit (read: tight), Classic is much more comfortable for all kind of riding.

Just wondered if anyone on the forum bought a Pro Team jacket from Turkey off Ebay? Seriously considering one, but would appreciate any feedback before parting with cash.

also interested, my womens jersey sold, and im thinking the PT Jacket might be a better buy than a long sleeve jersey

I've got one of the Turkish PT Jackets. Cycliste has gone over it with a fine toothcomb, and reckons there are some differences between it and my direct-from-Waffa guaranteed-genuine PT Jackets. All I know is that I've worn the Turkish one, and in terms of functionality I can't tell the difference. Basically, I'm very happy with it. Whether it's genuine or not, it's a fine bit of kit.
It's better in really cold conditions than the long sleeved jerseys, as it's windproof, but I suppose in mild conditions the long sleeved jersey might be better. If I had a choice between the two, I'd go for the jacket.

Single layer of tights this morning, hardshell jacket also significantly over-specified- could it be getting warmer?
-
• #15538
I agree, was in the merino BL and brevet jersey and way to warm. Was _ this close to going out in 3/4 and if its the same tomorrow I defintiely will.

Regarding the Turkish PT, I think a lot of garms are made in Turkey for rapha so perhaps they are off cuts or similar?
-
• #15540
PT Jackets say 'made in China' on them. Although the Turkish one doesn't.
-
• #15541
I suspect they're made from old patterns or stock from when stuff was made in Turkey. Since Rapha started sponsoring Sky and became huge I would guess they restructured their production and moved a lot of it to China.

^Thanks for the reply, Danstuff. What were the differences identified between the PTJ from Turkey and the Rapha version - are we talking updated fit, materials or something more significant?

Casual racism. Always SO funny.

I have one. Its the nicest cycling jacket I've owned. Although I dont have access to a rapha store to compare it to one there.
The embossed rapha logo on the collar is somewhat faint, and I have finally managed to locate a slight mark. But had I bought it from a rapha store I wouldnt have noticed these slight issues.
All the relavent seams are taped, the fit is exactly as my PT jersey, and I'm sure the materials are correct. I rode for 3 hours in gale force winds with just a t-shirt under in perfect comfort.
I suspect its a slight second. Not that I would have complained if I'd bought it from a rapha store. I only went with the EBay version because they had the nodder yellow.

^what he said
Yes. The pad is in a different place. The fabric feels different on the leg. Classic bibs are longer in the leg. Pro team are more compression-y.
Are you in London? Go to the shop and try both on. Big difference in my opinion.
