  • But will the card come in various collectable versions?

    finger hovering over BIN

  • step away from the keyboard

  • meh.

looking at silly cable housing. I'll direct my buyers urge there.

  • The coffee cards are even funnier. It's being a member that allows free coffee, not having a card so that's a pretty expensive piece of plastic for the buyer.

Do they check in London? My friend's card is just like a very fancy business card - not plastic - and I may or may not have used it for a free coffee on occasion...

  • Some clown has listed a load of IW Rainjackets.

He probably doesn't even have them - he'll just order them if someone pays his over inflated price.

    Crazy stuff.

They're not plastic, just thick embossed black card

  • You'd think they'd pay up for plastic considering you'd just spent £5k PA with them...

  • Why?

That stock is certainly more expensive than plastic and more tactile. There are no practicality issues (unless you're likely to forget your own name when you order coffees).

  • So is this coffee much better than the normal stuff to warrant a card and having to make your way to one of their cafes to get one?

  • They serve Tesco Value instant. True fact.

  • Right, where is that ebay link...

  • Sometimes, I don't understand Rapha's thinking regarding their range.

They've stopped making the Pro Team Jacket in chartreuse and then start selling the Pro Team Thermal Bibs with chartreuse logos.

Surely an orange logo to match the orange jacket would be better?

  • So you look like a tango advert on a bike?

  • 8 days after I ordered it, package arrived this morning with a card inside boasting of "Fast delivery" from Rapha.cc. Get the feeling I'm being mugged off here.

  • So you look like a tango advert on a bike?

Perhaps but doesn't it seem odd for a comapany so focused on image to sell mismatching kit?

I think the bibs are designed to match the PT jerseys rather than the PT jacket. E.g. there's no blue-accented PT bibs either (apart from the Sky ones).

  • On a similar theme...

I bought some winter tights last week and they're the first thing from Rapha that I don't get on with. They don't come with a pad and the material used in the area where the pad should be is much slicker than the rest of the item.

On the two occasions i've used them so far, i've been slipping all over my saddle. It's caused arm and lower back ache on the longer of the two rides as I was constantly adjusting my position.

I'll try them for another week then send them back if there's no improvement.

Rapha; why u no make tights with pad in?!

  • The winter tights is designed to go over the bibs short.

I would have thought, being thermal bibs, they would be more at home paired with the jacket.

That's currently what I'm wearing for most rides and in this weather they are perfectly matched. I'd be too cold in just the jersey.

I'm sure they know what they're doing.

  • Rapha; why u no make tights with pad in?!

Because it makes much more sense to use the shorts you're comfortable with and then have a pair of tights with no pad, than to have tights with a pad.

    Amateur.

  • And you'd need to buy several pairs if you wanted to wear them everyday on the winter commute

  • Rapha; why u no make tights with pad in?!

    To clarify, according to the webpage;

The tights are designed to be worn over your favourite bib shorts so there is no pad and they have mesh stirrups that can be easily removed.

  • They should at least provide an option of a padded winter tight...

  • Howies does them too; on my list this pay day

  • They should at least provide an option of a padded winter tight...

    They have.

At the moment it's a Team Sky item but hopefully there will be some non Murdoch branded ones in the pipeline.

  • The winter tights is designed to go over the bibs short.

    Ed; i'm not retarded.
I know how they're supposed to be used. I just don't like it.

They make pro winter bib tights with a pad but they have Sky plastered on the arse. I just want some normal ones with a pad.
