my spesh bg mitts still going strong after a year...

size too small? I've had 2x pairs of the cheapest ones they make and they've been going strong for a year now - only damage is from crashing at track. I normally go through gloves like hot dinners.
Right size. Got two years out of my first pair, thought I'd treat myself to new ones when I went touring as the padding was a little tired, falling apart before I got to Dover.

Id complain to Mavic, personally.

nice work Hugo7. Got me a pair of those slacks ordered.

By the time I'd got back from three weeks of touring they were in such a disgusting condition I didn't really have the heart to send them back to anybody. Probably be intercepted as dangerous biological agents en-route.

this. I cannot dispose of my gloves in a normal fashion. Environmental Health needs to be notified when I have had gloves or helmets longer than 3 months.

Rosie washed hers out in the sink at the hotel we stayed at on the final night. The water went black on contact. Sometimes it's better not to know.

I bought this antibacterial spray stuff a couple of months ago - you just whack it on your gloves/helmet and in your shoes when you come back from a ride and it seems to keep the worst of it all at bay. Even after rain etc.

which reminds me - my oversocks and socks from yesterday are still in a pool of black water next to my front door at home. Tits. Flat is bound to smell good when I get home.

once I wrung my socks out into a small pot when I got home to see how much water they contained.
it was a grim and surprisingly large amount of disgustingly coloured water.
i shan't be doing it again.

All my kit goes straight in the wash after a long ride, gloves and all.

A good tip with shoes even if not wet stick some old dry cotton rags into them as soon as you are home, this will dry them out and also prevent much odour. Also works with newspaper but I found my old vests did the trick.

Old vests
:-/
Shall we move - this conversation isn't very 'on brand' for Rapha...
-
• #13792
What if the vest is Rapha?
-
• #13793
Much too expensive to use as a rag.

Got a small hole in my transfer jacket from a fucking shitty messenger bag.
Small hole... like a cigarette burn, but not.
How to fix it?
Patch?
Any clues? -
• #13795
Send it to rapha for a repair?

Trousers arrived (navy blue). First impressions...
- The material is visually excellent, looks like just chino material. If your top isn't tucked into your trousers then I really don't think you'd know they're cycling trousers.
- Did a quick unscientific test of running them under a tap and the water ran off and didn't soak.
- The fit is pretty much identical to standard Gap chinos but with a higher back/rear waste. My 34” width is pretty much on point with most other 34”, possibly a fraction bigger.
I have yet to ride in them, but based on first impressions I prob would recommend buying @ c.£50. For £20 it’s a straight no brainer.
Just got mine - you are spot on with the Gap Chino sizing comparison.
Nice light weight material but a little bit snug on my 'Sprinters' thighs - not much stretch evident - need to ride in them to decide how comfy they will be.
First impressions are a good quality product - with the exception of the crappy jangly metal zip tags on the back pockets - may need a bit of modification - but overall looks very promising and amazing value.
Off for a preliminary ride.

^It's all about Castelli Nonflex apparently...
I've got some on order so hope this thread is right! But LFGSS doesn't lie.
