  • Commute faster?

  • cycling in the rain tonight and reading the last page or 2 has convinced me that i need a gabba jacket. Has anyone found better than £135 for the SS version?

  • Yep I will be getting one as soon as I find an ancient ship wreck.

  • I tried on one of these last night.
Not Rapha. But Very very nice, and more than a bit pricey.
Cant believe I was carrying it around the store considering dropping 3500nok.

  • I would never support a company like Assos no matter how good the product because 1. it still looks like 90's motocross design and 2. their marketing exploit female nudity

Bad taste alltogether no matter how pricey

  • Just bought my first piece of rapha......great quality, performance, fit and styling even though its a little pricey.......it's worth every penny! Will be back at their SohoStore on my next visit to London!

  • What top is in the picture....looks pretty tasty?

  • I like the look of assos stuff, and theres no faulting the inovation and quality. I could plaster this thread with marketing photos of topless ladies covering their nipples, while sporting apair of cycling bibs. Santini, Giordana.....etc. etc.

Alway considered Assos pretty non-sexist. Assos man is nearly always minimally dressed there marketing.

  • Lol didnt think this thread would become NSFW!

Only thing with Assos is the styling, not sure I want to look like a cow. I have their bib shorts though and they are magical.

    Assos iJ.bonkaCENTO.6 Jacket.

Its amazingly light and well fitting. hmmmmm.

Been doing the predictable Assos F.13 vs Rapha Pro team, bib short comparison. For what feels like an age.

    So I'm getting Skins C400.

  • What about he Kuku Penthouse?

  • I shudder at what the Kuku might cost up here.

Which do you prefer the Assos or Rapha?

  • have had to bin my merino boxers i bought just a couple of months ago... the fuckers wore through and were covered in massive holes after probably being worn no more than 25 times. very disappointed.

hoping the boxers with pad hold up better.

  • So you literally wore them every other day for 2 months? :D

  • couplefew. pedant :P

was more like one to two times a week depending on when i did my 'merino' wash cycle. so 25 might even be exaggerated amount of uses.

Havent had a pair of Rapha on. So cant really say.

The Assos felt predictably awesome. I'm right at the very short end of medium though.

I was thinking of trying a small rapha to get the straps tighter (and they look really nice). A small Assos was just a little too snug.

A medium skins works height wise. So I'll probably just go with them.

  • Half price at the moment too on their site....

Only in S or XS though. Definitely want a medium.

  • Ah yes just saw that.

  • Never really looked at Assos before.........but I'm liking the look of their stuff now! Chicks in bibs! Sex sells......and I'll buy!haha

  • For sellz. You buying?

  • Not that I'm an indesisive twat or anything.

But what are the lengths like for Rapha bibs. Assos et al, seem to be of the mind that you choose your length, or rather height. Then the stretch of the fabric sorts the width out. Whereas Rapha has a waist size. with a 32" waist I'd look at mediums it seems. But I worry that at 5'7" the straps will be a touch long. Nothing worse than saggy pad on a pair of bibs.

  • I went M in Assos and they fit perfectly. I am 5'6-7" and 31 waist if that helps.

I would also go M in rapha judging from their site. I am a M in all their tops.
