• ^there is a joke right there^

  • Are you joking? Look at the banking!

  • Having ridden on sand, in the cross race at HH last night, I can safely say that it is hard bloody work and no good for building leg speed.

  • I can't believe I'm going to be stuck on this beach and missing another derny paced keirin race. :D

Looks crap for bike riding though.

Anyone got a tiny cog they can sort me out with? ahem

  • remember, lots of spectators and no racers means no racing! so get yourselves out there on the track

  • how do we do if we have never been behind a derny thinguie?

  • it doesn't matter, it's only for keirins , you just treat it the same as the human pacer

  • no Dov on this one? He did a sweet impression of Tony Harrison last time...

  • got some questions and then count me in:

front break - can I just disconnect it or does the sucker need to be completely removed?
Pedals - Im a coward and don't do clips or straps, is that a problem?
    Lyrica - needed or not?
Gearing - Stock fuji track okay?

  • Completely removed
    Yes
Not unless you have the physique of RPM
    Probably a bit low.

Oh, and if we want it, we can have a space at the regent afterwards / should it rain.
Working on getting upstairs for ourselves, so lots of falling down stairs and some Bright Times action.

  • the regent is a great idea

brakes off, completely, the whole shooting match.
clips and straps or clipless, foot retention mandatory
tight-fitting clothing is much better when you are slogging on a windy track, it's more effort if you want to drag extra resistance around with you
gearing should be 84 or 86 for a novice

Front Break = Removed (not sure why tho)
Egg Beaters = Loaded and ready to Whisk
    Lyrica = In the wash
Standard Fuji Track Gearing = 48/15 - makes it 80 somthing..

  • Cuz it's a Saturday there'll be an induction/training session as normal so the jumblers'll turn up early (more like 8am tbh)... Training'll be over by 1pm so we can get everyone registered/inducted and ready to race by 2pm... Hope that helps... :]

    Hi Joe

Is it still going to be Ok for Herne Hill noobs to have track induction at 1pm? I'm doing a TT early that morning which I don't want to miss out on if I have to come along for the usual 9am induction.

    Cheers!
    Sam

  • Yup, inductions at 8.30am (it's normal track training on a Saturday) or 1pm... You'll save a few quid if you wait 'til 1pm but a little track experience will go a long way for those that haven't been on before...

  • fuckity fuck, can't make this as I had a calendar fail and now have tickets to go and see the Shawshank redemption play.
    fucksticks! Have fun everyone!

  • Nice, one, thanks Joe.

  • Is there anyone going ot the track day who also frequents South or South East beers and wouldn't mind doing me a favour?

  • heh I see where you're going with this Ed, but it wont work.
    Souths/South Easts - next Monday/Tuesday
    Track Day - this Saturday.

Unless you have some Back to the Future shit planned..

  • Track day is next Saturday

  • You're right I'm an ignorant cunt.
