  • No, we only need 5 people. The list of 6 is good to account for [st]lameasses like turd[/st] situations like this.

lameass? say that to my face when i've got a mallet in my hand we'll see who walks away lame, or can't walk away from being lame (that worked alot better in my head, shut up) ;)

well I'm gald it's all sorted. As it happens I'll be using my CRB skillz with 110 16-18 year olds at an out door activity centre for 10 days, going to be awesome. I'll put myself down for another date.

@ iain (use of lower case is about to be explained)...you know i thought your name was lain but you just never used a capital L i've been calling you Lain since i first saw how you spelt you name until last week when i asked brendan whether i was being stupid or not. ha ha ha.

  • Brilliant. In that one post you've gone from angry/violent Turd (Lameass) to trust me with your kiddies (CRB skillz) to just plain stupid (Lain).

Now I neither trust you to look after children nor fear you as you're probably not clever enough to actually be dangerous.

  • Most dangerous people in history have had no idea what their doing.

Don't underestimate me just because I have more than one side to my personality.

  • hi, massive apologies but i have broken my ankle so will not be much use as a polo tutor on wednesday.

If needs be i can make an appearance on crutches to keep up the necessary numbers of CRB'd folk?

    Sorry!!!

  • Shit, Rauri, that's awful! What happened? Playing polo? Don't worry about the polo session, just rest it!

  • was playing rugby, clash of heads and blacked out a bit, think because i was a bit floppy it got caught as i went down. pretty gutted but c'est a vie and all that! i i will play silly contact sports its something of an occupational hazzard!!

  • OUCH!!

    Get Well Soon :)

  • Just had to check this thread to find out when I first played polo (for the hardcourtbikepolo registration form).

Turns out it was 18th July 2009.

Feels like a long time ago now.

  • Is that when you turned up on your Langster with bull horns though?
    Totes doesn't count.
    ;)

  • No. For the first session I had no bike, I used Zoe's (not Prawn) bike, and promptly crashed it into the wall at Downham, to disapproving comments from Object, Rik and whoever else was there.

I did use the langster a couple of times at Newington, but I also played on some horrific apollo mountain bike for a while.

  • it's fun reading through the thread that started it all

  • this comment from dave always cracked me up, every time i see a BJ i think of it.

    "Fucking awesome.

I'm up for it... though perhaps not on the Jackson."

  • 'If you're genuinely interested in playing polo...You could of course, phone Herne Hill and ask if you could book the venue (reasonable rates) and use their existing polo specific bikes, malletts and balls??!!...there is even a pitch!

    Disadvantages are:

    1. does not comply with the "I want to copy what New Yorkers do" nature of this forum
    2. there is no need to fetishistically spend a wad on building up a gleaming ultra-specialised bike that you will probably use only once or twice.
    3. Fantasy of members of the public (possibly female?) wandering by and proclaiming how cool you are is even less likely to happen ..........'

    Winston, 2007

I think we done alight. Ladies polo represents hard too!
