not that i am advocdo-ing this coz beards are hot, but if you're with beard but skint...
http://now-here-this.timeout.com/2014/02/12/swap-your-beard-for-a-bouquet-at-wilkinson-swords-valentines-pop-up/Head down to Kings Cross station on February 14 from 8am to the ‘Beards for Bouquets’ pop-up stall where you can have a free shave in return for free flowers. No pressure, but size really does matter today, as the size of your beard will determine the size of your bouquet – a few days growth will get a small seasonal bouquet while a ‘dedicated beard growth’ will be taking home a mega bunch of gift wrapped floral treats.

I think I'd get dumped if I went home clean-shaven tbh...

Is putting up with a massive beard part of being a man?
Mine's is seriously starting to do my nut in, not from itchiness or anything, just from getting in the way, dunking itself in my food (also getting in the way when I'm, ahem, eating 'out'), getting soaked in condensation when riding in the cold, sticking out the bottom of my motorbike helmet and looking like some sort of hairy ginger animal has attached itself to me.
If I did a sponsored shave for charidee, would it be bad form to start growing it again straight after?

Better yet, do a raffle-style charity where the best request win (request as in what way to trim your beard into).
You'll hate it shaved, I guarantee you.

If your beard is impacting upon your ability to go down then I'd suggest it's time to get busy with the razor. Or does it get caught in a 'his n hers' Velcro snarl-up, in which case I recommend a Veet multipack.

I have a beard, had a mustache but couldn't be bothered to cut the other bits so full on beard now.

Fuck that, being lumped in with all those bloody bearded model runts and called a hipster would be a reason to shave.

See above.
Alkali, it's definitely not a Velcro situation just a getting in the way situation. I probably should trim but enjoying the length and I'm a bit all or nothing.

I'm still not getting it.

I see it very much in the same vein as when certain people were starting to get into vintage bikes a few years ago and discovered the existence of downtube shifters and non-indexed gears. :) -

shaved mine off just before my 31st, after a few weeks quite enjoy being clean shaven again, strange as it is. Also don't have to fear the hipster douchebag label which, although not something that troubled me, is quite nice nonetheless.

Was in France last week, where I was there were no beards (none of the big lumberjack ones)... Really underlined to me how every fucker in London has one...
Have shaved mine off.

Is being clean shaven now a sign of celibacy?
Wife brought me a cut throat for Christmas. I just had a tidy up of the Christmas beard. Feels good man. Might even keep this longer than the new year.
