I used Michelin PRO4 Service Course folding, black 700x23c. They did a good job, except the front one failing on the side. I still have one at home that did not more then 800 miles (still commuting in London and club rides)

I used to in Oz. Far less shit on the roads though and I was training after work plus I'd get them cost. Oh, I was doing a lot less mileage than now too which helped.

I always had race tyres (whit an eye... Small one to puncture protection) on my road bike, that is my commuting bike as well as my club ride bike
going to try the vittoria Open Corsa SR Tyre

Currently using gp4000s for the front and from the look of the tyre its slowing coming to its end lifespan, so find this a perfect opportunity to try something new (plus I want to try out a 20mm front tyre for a while and pro 4 is currently only doing that so I thought what the hell) I'll probably regret it and eventually go back to gp4000s with the old saying 'whats not broke...'

A 20c tyre would not be fun for commuting.
-
• #640
you will regret it.
BTW double check if your rims can handle the higher pressure required for the 20c.

Cheers Ed,
I've checked with these rims they should be alright with 120psi, though the 20mm pro 4 only allows roughly 116psi, which is surprising as supersonic takes a lot more.
-
• #642
Just check - they also said the 23mm version required between 87-116psi.

Noted =)

700X20C (20-622) / 110 TPI / 200g / 87-116 PSI
700X23C (23-622) / 110 TPI / 200g / 87-116 PSI
700X25C (25-622) / 110 TPI / 215g / 87-116 PSIDon't think the number is entirely correct (not surprising).

Search this thread. There are some posts at the top of this page.
I sold mine to miro_o: http://www.lfgss.com/member1202.html
... and iirc he is running them at the moment, so maybe drop him a message.

Just put some Panaracer Closer Plus 25s on my new TB14 rimz. Bit of a basterd to get on but on the plus side they smell really nice.
Only heard a couple of good reviews of them but at £23 I thought id give them a go. The slightly rough slick tread looks quite cool too.

Might be the rims, not the tyres. My TB14s are very difficult to mount tyres onto.

ok, did wonder. First time ive had to use levers to get tyres on!
-
• #649
The wall are quite shallow making it trickier to mount it.
Trick is to try and push the bead into the centre of the rims where it's deeper to mount that last bit.

did try that but was still bloody tight!
