Tyre people, how tough is the compound on the Gravel Kings? Quite fancy a pair on my fixed commuter but as i'm prone to the occasional skid i'd like something that'll last at least as well as some 4 seasons.

Not sure how much use this is but I've locked up my rear wheel twice doing some emergency breaking running GKs with no noticeable wear

Oooh, if i get this Tripster I can run like 50mm tyres...

Anyone know how Marathon Supreme's measure up in the real world? Read one comment somewhere that they come up small.
Have some Voyager Hyper's that need replacing soon in 32mm, which come up as a rather pleasing 33 and bit mm in real life on my rims (18mm internal).
Wondering if 35mm Supreme's is therefore the way to go to get close to replicating that.

get the 37 supremes

Had my 35c hypers on now for 2 months, running approx 45psi rear 40psi front (big box) on a 3s disc belt commuter thing. Extremely happy.
In the wet and cold they perform very well, not as tacky as a marathon plus, but not the pedalling in mud sensation either.
Today in the slush /snow/ frozen junk they are fine, not mtb level of grip but certainly happier on these than aby other commuter bike type tyre I've ever tried. Front is ghetto tubeless, rear is tubed. No punctures yet but prob only done 4-600miles

maybe I was running mine at too high psi then...
Want to buy a set of 32mm? £15 for a pair, only had about 400km on then.

I found them to be puncture magnets as soon as it gets wet, chucked them in the shed until summer and put some Hypers on instead.
-
• #5335
They measure up a little on the small side, but only by ~1mm. Your rim width probably makes more difference than the tyre.

Really? That's a shame, my GF has been running a pair for the last 3 months and so far so good. I'm currently running Vittoria rubino pro control G+ which to be fair have been awesome but i'd like something wider and they're not the prettiest. Maybe i'll just go for the 28's and use a sharpie again.
@gillies, cheers, helpful to know, i locked up my Schwalbe One's on my road bike a while back and left a flat spot like an F1 supersoft tyre.

Would take them but Glasgow

also in glasgow :)

Cheers for this. I'll stick with the 32s then I think - 35s sound like they'd be a squeeze under my mudguards.

What size mudguards? You might be able to get away with it...

Anybody running Challenge Strada Bianca Race tubeless here? Challenge doesn't say they're tubeless compatible, but after failing at setting up the first of a pair of 2nd hand (supposedly tubeless compatible) Bon Jons (tried track pump; shouldn't even have bothered; then CO2, bit better but air was oozing through the sidewalls and beads, according to the bubbles) I tried with the Strada Bianca I had on before the experiment and so far... so good.
At least I've got a good reason to clean my bathroom now.

Tyre got down to ~25 psi overnight. Pumped it back up to 40, commuted, didn't die. Yay!

How wide do the Challenge Paris Roubaix's 27c come in at? I have limited tyre clearance and my current GP4000's are already pretty tight.
I'm doing the PR sportive and looking at going as wide as I can but it's looking quite limited for choice. The other alternative is Vittoria Open Paves which are still available in 25 but not sure if they'll offer much benefit over my existing tyres.
I assume the correct answer is buy a new bike.
-
• #5344
If the GP4000 are tight (what size?), I'd say the PR's probably won't fit. I think the 27 PR are wider than the 28 GP4k
-
• #5345
They're 25's (actual width seems to be about 27mm) and there's enough clearance not to quite cause any rub. Was hoping 27's would come in at 27mm though.

Does anyone know if Conti are bringing out new GP4000s (III model?) I remember reading something like this a while ago but can't remember where.

Any body know how the Specialized Roubaix 28mm tyres compare to Gravel Kings 28mm?

Anyone have any ideas on size of Corsa G+ on an Open Pro? I'm currently just about squeezing in 28c Continental Ultra Sport II... Do I go for 28c or 25c in Corsa G+?
-
• #5349
I think the contis always come up pretty big so you'll be alright. I'd measure it to be sure though
-
• #5350
I'll take them if the other guy didn't.
+1 for Marathon Supreme
